My sourzes tell me this is the only known photograph of him.

Who is Mayimba? He is supposed to be Turkish. Some say his father was German. Nobody believed he was real. Nobody ever saw him or knew anybody that ever played directly with him, but to hear Hewitt tell it, anybody could have played with Mayimba. You never knew. That was his power. The greatest trick the NCAA ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone.

I for one am disappointed to see Porter leave. He has an exceptional skill set, that unfortunately needed one (or more) years of college S&C to put him in a position to compete. Players with his height and length and athleticism are extremely rare. If he has the work ethic, he can be an exceptional player on the high DI level. At least he will now get the RS year he needs.

So does it look like Trey is trying to move up in competition, or down? And should we be worried we now have 4 scholarships to fill (not including the CJ Jackson LOI). How many guys are still left to grab for 2015? Does Shevon have anymore JUCO buddies that want to come in and tear up the A-10 with him for a year or two?

Any chance we go after bucknells 2015 class? I'll take that Setina kid. Looks to have some hustle in him.

1. Not worried. The more available scholarships, the more quickly DP is able to get guys who play basketball the way he wants it played. May as well get the transition started now.

2. There is still a ton of uncommitted guys out there on the transfer market. Hopefully DP will grab a guard or two who can contribute right away and serve as a bridge to the 2016 class.

2. I'd say there is about zero percent chance DP poaches players from Bucknell. I don't know the man, but he left Bucknell on very good terms and taking players would certainly end that.

It may be a fine line, but there is coach initiated poaching, which I am not in favor of, and then there is player initiated decommitment. Even with the later, I think it is the former coach's responsibility to say to the kid, "You committed to my former school. I think you should honor that commitment. However, . . . "

Judging from what little I know of DP's character I would agree. However, if one of the players comes to him and wants to transfer I think that is a different story. Ultimately he is in a new job and must turn a program around. If the player would add to that goal, I think he has to seriously consider it.

Over the last day or two, GW has managed to snag Alex Mitola and Jaren Sina - two highly regarded transfers. There are a lot of good players on the transfer market right now. Hopefully Mason can follow suit and grab a couple of their own.

Fewer players however are available for the 2015 season and many of those are seniors. Hopefully we will sign a couple of folks in the next week or so. Has Dane Fischer been signed yet as the head assistant (or associate head coach or whatever title they give these days)?

Its better to have more schollies for DP recruited guys rather than Hewitt recruited guys. Just gives him more to work with in rebuilding this shitshow shack in to Tony Montana's mansion.

Talked to BE about Mayimba today. Still don't have info from NCAA to get him eligible. He is hoping they get it figured out, but just a bunch of paperwork crap it sounds.
