Go Mason Bitches!
This is awesome, but I think we're due for a large drop off. Mason received two (three depending on when they reported the money the Peterson's gave us for the health building) massive gifts in the last fiscal year which are going to be hard to match.
They couldn't keep the same spacing on the graph to fit the page. Not uncommon as you show series data. Its a formatting thing - you put that in a chart where it impacts the slope the least.what does teh white line represent?
True, I don't think we'll revert to pre 2012 numbers by any stretch, I just think it will be a while before we see a 2016 again.True but look at the long term trend - I think it won't be a drop off but a decrease in slope of the curve - not a reversal.
Serious question, and I get theres massive disagreement on here about football, but what sort of numbers would we be looking at fundraising wise for that? What would the finances of it all be?and don't forget the Darrell Green effect.

Fourth Estate (or Broadside) ran an article a while back with some numbers but I've seen like three different sets. Estimates for a stadium at 100 million to 200 million. Was just curious what the dollars and cents would be.It would have to be high. Brad Edwards stated he wanted to get investments into our current sports and then address football. We are seeing the baseball, soccer and track stadium getting attention and the practice facility would be next. Once those are addressed with more endowed scholarships - football could be planned.
But people better be ready to pony up on that one.

stadium and physical facilities are the easy part. It is coaches salaries and scholarships that will be the tit twister. Those are recurring costs year after year.Fourth Estate (or Broadside) ran an article a while back with some numbers but I've seen like three different sets. Do we even have the land though? You need like 30,000 to be FBS right? And that's where the admin has said we will start.stadium and physical facilities are the easy part. It is coaches salaries and scholarships that will be the tit twister. Those are recurring costs year after year.

Maybe FCS, doesn't seem like enough room for FBS although I could be wrong. They also just redid that field. The topography is really weird over there too and I think they're daylighting the stream as part of th Academic VII sitework. Not sure if it's enough room, but I always thought the Robinson Field area would be a perfect location. Tear down the rotting student apartments and reroute Patriot Circle. We could even cut into Lot I if we needed. That location would be beneficial for students to still be able to walk to, plus there's a hella lot of parking. Could even use the West Campus for additional parking.

I read all the stuff we have by Shirley Gate is under state control for conservation purposes and that's a significant chunk of that 710We have 710 acres - with a whole lot of undeveloped land across 123. We have the land. That is not the issue - the stadium would not be on the east side of the campus.
Enough with the land question. OMG. Mason owns more land then any other VA school. And there is always a way. That said, maybe we knock something down and build on top of that. Not sure if it's enough room, but I always thought the Robinson Field area would be a perfect location.
