We arent hurting for cash. I refuse to believe that after raking in all those ncaa tourney checks. The last one TOC was willing to forfeit to move to A10 one year earlier than we did. 900k per year over a 6 year period is what i think the payments were.



Also i believe they should raise student fees 20 bucks, and call it a day. Thats atleast 400K per year.

Our 2006 run was worth over 600 million.

No i dont think we made 600 million. You mis read. I do wonder how much actual cash was made over the 5 or 6 million dollars in cash we did bring in from the tourney units and CAA shares from vcu, and odu's runs in whatever years that happened. You do bring up a good question. Where did that 6 million go?

Don't forget keeping The Destroyer on payroll for almost a year after his successor was hired. Would be interested in seeing how much "fund raising" he actually did. Did he even raise enough to cover his salary?

They need to do more things for the fan base, not just the students. There was a time that a Chevy dealer would try to giveaway a car every season, for example. There could be random drawings for various prizes.

Whenever the first game is every season, the season ticket holders should be able to get the t-shirt that gets thrown out after a made 3 point shot. There could be a card/voucher put in the season ticket package that gets mailed out for this purpose.

Talking to an old high school friend and a St. Bonaventure grad the other day. He saw the shot and of course thought it was pretty amazing. The other thing that made a big impression was the empty seats. "There is no one there to celebrate" was his immediate thought.

Zero chance.

I'm not saying we had the money to fire him after last season, just that we could/should have had it if the un-achieved bonus money in his contract had been saved and other items had been factored in. But for the sake of the this question, let's assume there was no way financially that Mason could afford to fire him with two years left.

So, with that in mind, where is the money going to come from to fire him with one year left on his contract? It is less money, but it still no chump change.

Been saying for years that they need to jack up the student fees. Mason is such a cheap school compared to other regional universities. $20 is very do-able and would create a nice chunk of change to battle any sports income deficiencies we may have through the years.

I think the fees should be jacked up $100.00, but if the students attend 3 of the Men's basketball games, it get's refunded. Or maybe 6 games from any of the sports. Need more students getting involved, and they would likely go with friends who are all trying to get the refund.

Those that don't meet the quota help the program through extra fees. Those that make the quota help the program through more student fan support.

You answered your own question. After 4 years with almost 200k per year in incentives etc unmet, thats 800k. I guess deduct 85k X 3 for that stupid march 1st bonus. So thats less 260k, and 540k left.

It's a rather silly question if you just look at the men's basketball budget in 2005 and then compare it to 2014.
