Let's just make college another NBA league and quit acting like these guys are "Student" athletes.

Portion of article from the Chronicle of Higher Education; making many of the points that Brian has been telling us about:There is no restriction on the collectives on paying the players directly. The change is that NIL deals will have be more "true NIL" deals. There will be some sort of NCAA mandatory auditing of the deals (which I predict will set the NCAA up for it's next loss of a future lawsuit when they, effectively, try to say some player is getting paid more than they are worth).
i don't think so.That's good for us. Don't have to deal with bidding war anymore right?
Related to the insurance topic in that article, I have long been a critic of the NCAA for not allowing schools to purchase insurance polices for their players in case they have a career ending injury. This came up back when Michael Vick left college early to go pro. Of course he wasn't going to stay in school for free and risk an injury versus taking the pro money. With NIL, etc. payments, this isn't as big of a deal, but, could still be used as an incentive to keep kids in school until they finish their degree if they were insured against a career ending injury. Not sure that I fully understand the details of this but thought I'd pass the "gift" article from the Washington Post insofar as it addresses how the Bonnies are dealing with covering costs of paying players:

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.I know this is more football related, but it's also NIL related
