This is what happens every game. Whatever Paulsen is asking them to do on defense just isn’t working. At some point, the other teams is going to go on a run. Our guys panic and start tossing up trash hoping to get back into it, but really it only fuels the other teams run and then it all just collapses. Wash, rinse, repeat.

AJ (0-4) and Oduro (1-3) are the only guys who had bad days at the line. Our season average is right about 70%, which would have us make 3 extra today, which wouldn't have made much of a difference.

We are getting MURDERED from 3. 8-27 today and allowed 7-19. Still haven't held a conference opponent to under 35% from deep. That's impossibly bad. We could get away with the crappy shooting out of conference because we actually defended the perimeter pretty well, but now we can't shoot and we're giving up great looks. It's bad all over.

Yes. I’ve mentioned the bad defense.

But even 3 more made FTs might have made a difference. If the game were at 65-69 with a minute left instead of 62-69, do we have to keep jacking up 3s to try to get back into it? Or do we foul, get the misses (they missed that front end of one-and-one right after we might have pulled within 4) and try to get a better shot? The margin is what it is because we missed three desperation 3s in the last minute hoping for a miracle comeback.

Of course, they might have just kept getting layups at that point, but we were in the midst of holding them to 8 points in the last 7 minutes leading up to that point so who knows?
