Let me be the first to heartily congratulate Coach Larranaga on tying John Wooden in career coaching all-time wins.

The victory was versus the mighty Jacksonville Dolphins, 73-64.

Extremely impressive! All the best to Coach L from his greatest fan! (me)

You can tell he’s getting old because he can stretch his old dangly balls all the way from florida to fairfax for everyone to fondle.

In all seriousness congrats to coach L, quite the achievement.

The fact that he's been gone nearly a decade and this thread about him is constantly in the Top 10 actives....tells me how FREAKING horrible this program is.

This reminds me of a similar flawed argument I saw on Twitter lately: "the mere fact that 1/3 of all gofund me requests are about health costs shows how bad our health care system is."

My health care can be fine, and I can start a GoFundMe request anytime for anything.

One guy (me) can also pull this thread up anytime for anything as well, it has nothing to do with how good Mason is (better than Miami last three years, incidentally).

For the record I plan on operating this thread long after Mason becomes good again and Coach L is worm food.

Love,

Well I disagree....

If it was generic banter....then where is the Nestor, Westhead, and Hewitt stand alone threads? Why aren't they brought up constantly?
(At least we have a Fire Paulson thread)

We spend a lot of time talking about a coach that left 10 years ago. Hell.... I dont see vcu with current and specific Grant or Smart threads...ODU with Blaine Taylor threads, and nobody at UVA is wasting their day on Gillen Leito or Jeff Jones threads.

But yet here we are.....so I would say it says alot about this program if that's our daily concern....

By the way...if we can lure Russell Turner our of UC Irvine.....Blaine Taylor comes along free in the package deal.....

Evidently, Blaine Taylor has departed UC Irvine.

Speaking of Russell Turner - https://cbbreview.com/2020/07/25/ranking-the-top-ten-mid-major-coaches/:

"10. Russell Turner, UC-Irvine Anteaters
Russell Turner has turned UC-Irvine into one of the most feared mid-major programs on the west coast. He has compiled a record of 209-139 there, becoming the winningest coach in school history and averaging 20 wins per season. Turner’s profile includes five regular-season Big West titles and two NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Anteaters’ first tournament win last year, upsetting four-seed Kansas State 70-64. He has won at least 20 games seven times and has one season of at least 30 wins. Until Turner gets lured away to a power conference gig, UC-Irvine will continue to be a wrecking ball in the Big West."

Well crap.

I knew turner would be a super long shot even if he wanted to move since he doesn't ethnically fit the new Mason hiring directives.

Blaine Taylor would have been the icing on the cake....

"......Until Paulsen gets lured away to a Div III powerhouse academic conference gig, Mason will continue to be a "gimmee" in the A-10."

L falls to 0-3 in the ACC with another soul-crushing loss, this time to mediocre Clemson.

12-29 in the ACC now the last three years.

Better than how I thought they'd do, actually.

Blah blah blah

L loses another close conference game. Blah blah blah.

Now 12-30 in conference play last three years.

Really, really, really bad. When will you Miami donors demand a change?

Even im getting tired of the same old story. Losses, excuses, etc.

Not tired enough to kill this thread though.

...and the valuable updates from the Miami thread.

Sorry I have been really busy, but wanted to give props to 99Patriot for the compliment in the vcu thread, before zone admin "don't call me Jack Dorsey" censored and locked it.

I realize many of you peruse this thread often and it gives you great joy. Just wanted to say thanks for reading and I have no plans to stop for at least the next 10-15 years, whether L is fired or not.

I will give updates from the nursing home, if need be.

Also, Miami 6.5 dogs to NC State while Mason only six dogs to UR today.

Really shows you that as questionable as Mason has been lately, its worse down at the U.

Look at your God now.
