Thus far count me in as a fan of the Adidas gear. I liked the polos being worn by staff, the pullovers some coaches were wearing and the warmups the players were wearing. Guess we'll see what the final uniforms look like. If tonight is any indication, Be Bold, Wear Gold may become a thing of the past.

The women's unis were sweet. The practice jerseys were sweet. The warm up shirts? Not so much. Too busy. But then again, I'm not in the target audience.

My biggest take aways from last night are:

1. The god awful speaker thing is no longer hanging from the rafters!!!
2. Otis Livingston dunking like he was 6-8
3. Danny Dixon looked very athletic....very fluid throwing down reverse dunks in the fast break drill.

http://www.si.com/vault/1988/03/14/...how-off-slam-dunking-is-junking-up-basketball:

"As for the matter of tactics, is it smart to make an easy shot
more difficult? Case in point: Kansas versus Nebraska, Jan. 27, in
Lincoln. Kansas led by 13 points in the second half when Jayhawk
guard Otis Livingston -- six feet tall in thick-soled shoes -- took
off toward a breakaway basket. Though no defender was close by,
Livingston disdained the simple layup and tried a soaring, one-handed
sweep-slam. He missed, clanging the ball high off the heel of the
rim. The Cornhuskers grabbed the rebound and roared back to win on a
last-second shot.
Is it too harsh to say that Livingston's showing off cost Kansas
the game? Granted, Danny Manning, the Jayhawks' All-America forward,
dribbled the ball off his leg in the last minute, and, sure, other
players missed pressure shots. But those were errors of execution.
Livingston's mistake was a lapse of discipline."

Someone mentioned in another thread about lighting changes. In the videos of Mason Madness, it appeared they were changing the lighting pretty quickly. Did they make changes to the lighting so that they will be able to darken the arena for introductions, or were they just using event lighting that won't be available during games (or just didn't turn on the main lighting)?

The lighting arrangement appeared to be temporary to me, as it was installed under/around the scoreboard. If that is permanent, they'll need some adjustment...from our season seats in the lower section of 118, we were blinded for about 1/2 the event. The installation was way too low for special effect lighting.
