Marcus Evans signs with Rival Program

vcu signed Marcus Evans (transfer from Rice) who followed his old coach to vcu. He will have to sit out a year, but this kid is going to be a pain in our butt for two years. He can flat out score. Over 30 games in his career over 20pts in CUSA and set the CUSA record for Sophomore scoring. I hate to compliment the dollar menu boys, but this is a good pickup.

yea, we have had touted recruits that have absolutely flopped. So I will take a dude who avg 20 pts both his freshman and soph year over people relatively unknown. He chose vcu over AZ and Miami which is absolutely crazy.

The league has plenty of talent, nothing new to get recruits like this in the league. No point in worrying about every single thing vcu ( or any school) does, worry about where Mason is going.

Evans didn't choose vcu over Miami and Arizona any more than I chose my wife over Jessica Alba and Jessica Bowl.

He never even visited either school. He was following Rhoades all the way.

Good pickup for vcu, though. Evans is a poor defender but I'm sure he will have a very good two years there.

vcu was his first visit. had scholarship offers for AZ and Miami... Jessica Alba wouldn't even give you a wave. distinct difference

Maybe Rice realizes the kid went there because of the coach and would like to continue to play for the coach. Unique.

I think you're missing the point- plenty of people will talk about transfers/recruits etc (including myself), but the last thing I think anyone wants is to see "vcu DID THIS" specifically on the thread titles, like Tom mentioned there is a transfer thread. And besides, lets be real, vcu is light years ahead of many schools in terms of recruiting, we don't need to kick ourselves in the teeth anymore by seeing a specific thread.

I hate the offseason (wrong thread).
