Phil Jackson
Louis Orr, head coach at Bowling Green. It worked last time for GMU.
Jollay, I always find your wit and sarcasm hilarious, but, I must admit I am confused as of late by your posts. Are you just having fun at the expense of those that had originally pushed for some of those other candidates? Are you implying we should keep our current coach because other coaches have not panned out? I value your opinion so if you were making a point, I'd like to get it.
No ulterior motives with this one...just curious. I personally would still hire Courtney but not Johnson. I'm just assuming if TOC is still here (which I do hope) the question is moot since he presumably wouldn't hire an L guy...
I doubt anyone would; he would probably have to return to assistant coach purgatory for a while. But if I were AD, I would.I like Bill Courtney. But, if he doesn't turn things around at Cornell, why would TOC or any AD be interested in him as a head coach?
Hewitt will be here next season - book it.
I don't have a problem with Hewitt getting a 4th season, provided he makes a significant change to his coaching staff.

I remember a game when Wade Houston was the coach at Tennessee. He was a horrible coach. Well, Tennessee was behind by 1 point to Kentucky - the #2 team in the country at the time - and Houston called time out with a few seconds left to set up a play. He drew out the play. Al Brown - one of his assistants - sees the play and grabs the clip board and says, "We aren't going to do that! We are going to run this play." They won. Maybe Hewitt should hire Al Brown.I know he would probably never do it, but preferably someone who would tell Hewitt, "WTF are you doing, we need to be doing this." mid-game or at halftime. This has been mentioned before, but he needs someone who can help with in-game situations, x's and o's, and adjustments.
Would there be enough justification and budget that with the move to the A-10, that they could get an additional coach to come in and help? I see many other programs have at least 4 assistants. I know they have Scott Lombardi as an "operations" guy and another guy is there for "player development", but maybe there can be justification for another "assistant coach".
When did Arledge become such a program changer? Really?
Some on here are acting like if Arledge stayed, we would have a much more succesful year so far. Some have even said, we may ave had 5 or 6 more wins if he were still on the team.
Sorry, don't buy it. Arledge does not have enough skills to overcome the Hewitt factor.
