I think we got to see a glimpse of what made Royal such a high recruit. He obviously hasn't lived up to the 4-star billing, but you can tell the kid is very athletic. He just hitched his wagon to the wrong coach not once but twice. I'd really like to see what a good big-man coach could do to get more out of Royal and Jenkins.

Agree, as much as I loathe our back court talent, there is definitely talent in the front court. I really see guys like Jenkins and Royal taking off next year under a better coach and better system.

You have to understand the mind of Hewitt. Somewhere down the road, he will make a line up change or substitution based on something that happened 10 games ago.

In the vcu game he did one time accidently point to Julian to go in. He quickly corrected himself and sat him back down. I think feeling bad he then told him to slide down the bench towards the coaches because he might soon need him. All his run on Saturday was likely a way to make up for teasing him on Wednesday.

I doubt it. George Mason makes things too complicated with transfer credits. He may have enough credits to graduate, but they probably aren't the right ones.

IMHO, this is more of an indictment of the assistants than Hewitt.

Head coach has so many things to remember during the course of a game. The other guys are getting paid, too ... why don't they open their f*cking mouths already?

I find it very difficult to believe that the assistants are naturally that aloof and uninterested. I think Hewitt encourages assistants to be seen, not heard.

Assistants are ambitous, they want to practice being a head coach one day.
