I actually agree with him on the policy. And of course he has the right to an opinion, doesn't mean there aren't right and wrong ways to go about it. I'm not sure it's an appropriate use of email. He could have sent it to those effected. My problem is it's things like this that give credence to the idea that universities are just left-wing think tanks. His email wasn't solely about those who would be affected, there was a lot of opinion in there. But I digress, I'm more just frustrated I now have to listen to friends complain that Mason is some crazy leftist commune for the next few days.Disagree. Cabrera is entitled as an American to speak his mind. He has made the choice to speak his mind on some issues, and there are some I'm sure he's chosen not to. Agree with his thinking or not, if there is a policy that would substantially effect the enrollment at Mason it would be irresponsible for Cabrera not to address it.

I certainly don't think so. Others point to things like this though. Mason is actually pretty well balanced from what I can tell, although I didn't take classes across all humanities.A university that just named its law school after Antonin Scalia is a "left-wing think tank?"

So long as somebody does not express their opinion with violence I'm ok with it. I don't think there is a bad time to speak your mind. It's like Colin Kaepernick and his peaceful protest not being the "right time." Or Tommie Smith in 1968 not being the "right time." Or NWA using music to talk about police brutality not being the "right place". Or maybe it's just a case of if somebody says something you disagree with there is never a good time for them to express their opinion.
As far as us being a leftist, communist, brain washing university public schools will always have that rep. The Koch Brothers basically own Wichita State University, and they're still called some leftist school.
Did they buy some class?
JMU finally got the money for the arena
