GIVING DAY 2023
Not sure if everyone saw but on Friday June 17th, Mason athletics is having an evening celebrating the Final Four team and the staff. Looking forward to seeing that.

When ego's clash, logic walks. Everyone either jumped ship or was pushed. Totally new administration that seems to want to clean up and move forward. I'm in for the change in direction.

The online Washington Post article on the 10th anniversary is today taking up about two-thirds of the front page of the Sports section and a FULL 2 pages inside including several photos.

Of course, yesterday's game is the usual AP 3-4 paragraph piece (same is true for GW's loss at Davidson in a game of some consequence for GW's chances of getting into the NCAAs). So this isn't the week to complain about the Post's coverage!

More of you fans need to start taking subscriptions to the print edition!

That would be easier if they would stop jacking up the price and shrinking the coverage!

I used a Living Social last year to get 52 Sunday's of The Washington Post for about 20 bucks. That way, I can read the paper online and only get the print edition that is worth reading, which is the Sunday edition.

The Sunday edition is $3.50 now, I remember when it was a $1. USA Today is pretty high too, but I would never subscribe to it.

I'm guessing, given that they mention it will be in the evening, that it will be a money-raising dinner. Didn't they do something similar to that with Dayton Moore/KC staff alums for baseball?

Hope it is affordable, if that turns out to be the case.

I was thinking the same thing but with a flyer that was just sitting on tables around EBA for anyone to take it seems like it "could" be open to the public. Still maybe a ticketed event. I did some checking and there are HS graduations at EBA on June 17th (my nephew's included) but the last one of the day is over at 2pm. So EBA is free that night and set up with a stage so its possible they could use that venue to do whatever they have planned. We shall see.

NBC4 in their 11 news, had coverage of Larranaga & Miami at the Patriot Center today. A few sentences on how well the people treated him here and how he was pleased to be here for 14 years. Naturally included was a shot of the Final Four banner.

He was named ACC coach of the year by a couple of votes over VT's Buzz Williams. VT has had a nice year, btw beating Miami by 15 last weekend and finishing over .500 in the conference and 18-13 overall, after being 11-22 the previous year. Buzz is finishing his second year at Tech; it really would be something if Paulsen could make that sort of jump in his second year, but may be unrealistic given that our team will still be very young.
