Giving Day 2018

Just as a trivial note, when I worked with Princeton Athletics, their Tiger Athletics Give Day totaled 2.4 million off of roughly 8,000 donors. Track & Field alone raised 270k.

One day... we will get there.

We will get there - Princeton has like a century of years of existence ahead of us -- so step by step.

It appears we generally met our goals. Raise them next year a bit more and we will progress.

Will we? Curious to know what the future will look like. Elites suddenly not supporting their own or will their wealth transfer to a lower class?

Remarkable considering Princeton has about 6 thousand students and Mason has 30k.

We will get to 2.4 million eventually, but Princeton will be at 10 million by that point.

Mason graduates rank very favorably to their in state counterparts for after graduation salaries. As they mature in their careers and build businesses they will have more money to contribute .

It starts with a winning product. I know plenty of people like myself who were in the student section for the last tourney run and have favorable memories of the team. But I really wouldn't blame anyone who was a student during the Hewitt years for saying "pass" when asked for a donation.

I know this is “chicken vs. egg,” but doesn’t giving the program needed resources increase the likelihood of winning?

I would think anyone who likes winning would be willing to donate something, even if it’s $20.

In theory that’s how it should be, but look at the Final Four run. Success brought the money in, money didn’t come in beforehand to bring the success.

I think for a lot of people see it as a “reward” rather than an “investment.” Particularly 22 year old kids who have just graduated.

Anyone else get a call from Justin Kier thanking them for their contribution? Pretty cool of the team to personally thank donors.

No but someone called my mother in law to thank her for my donation (which was "our" donation). No idea how my wife's mothers number got listed as my contact number.
