Perhaps, but he's after Power 5 schools.
He's making the same point that Coach L did back when he was in the Colonial. It's hard to get the high majors to schedule mid-majors and Norlander is fooling himself that it will get any easier now that they have gotten into the NCAA and played okay while being a modest underdog.

Memphis guard Tyrese Hunte will miss Friday's NCAA Tournament opener against Colorado State as he continues to recover from a left foot injury he suffered during the AAC tournament.

Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway said Thursday he didn't have an update on his first-team All-AAC guard. But minutes before, Hunter told reporters he would not be playing and he spent the Tigers' open practice period on the bench in a walking boot."

"Hunter did not appear in Memphis' AAC championship win over UAB after getting injured in the semifinal against Tulane. Sophomore Baraka Okojie made his first career start in the title game, finishing with five points and four assists.

Hunter had started all but one game this season, averaging 13.4 points per game. His only other absence, on Feb. 9 against Temple, ended a streak of 129 straight starts dating back to his freshman year at Iowa State and continuing through sophomore and junior campaigns at Texas."

Without Hunter, Memphis lost by 8 to 12 seed Colorado St. Okojie played 22 minutes, 0-2, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 TOs---wasn't in the game in the last 5 minutes that I noticed.

Even SEC teams with winning records struggling. It's pretty clear that maybe, MAYBE they should have been a 2 bid league.
