I can't think of an actual good reason to pick to Patriot to win but...

Navy 66
G Mas 70

This isn't rocket science people...1,500 free tickets, let's say 1,100 attend from that, plus the 75 that attended the open scrimmage, minus Matt Kaufman, national donut day (second one this year) so minus shirtless fat guy and about 300 fatties, plus the nine still Patriotic students on campus, plus Marshall HS basketball to see Deaver, plus the Green Machine, plus those two old dudes always at Brions, usual 1000 for a weekday game, add home opener plus 300, weather okay plus 100, attendance 2350.

Yes, 2350 attendance, mandatory 40% exaggerate actual door receipts, announced attendance 3,290.

GIVING DAY 2023
Last year, we got 5,767 for the home opener vs Penn (also on a Tuesday).

With the military promotion, I would hope we'll beat that.

Please don't stay home just to prove me wrong. :super angry::bunny:

hopefully this game will sway some of you chirpers.

I've got to admit, I didn't love this Washington Nationals baseball team on paper all year, especially the bullpen and a lack of a huge bat in the lineup. Boy did they prove me wrong. Sometimes Team Chemistry is much more important than talent.

For all intents and purposes, this is the third year that most of these players are on the same team.

I say this is a 20-22 win team and potential bubble consideration if they get to 22 wins.

Huh? Who is going to score with Keir out??

it's a concept calling balanced scoring. Greene will probably put up 15-17 PPG while Kier is out.

Wilson, Miller, Mar will score 8-12 PPG between the three of them.

Hartwell will get 10 PPG.

Calixte and JDS will get 4-6 PPG.

anything else will be gravy.

If you tally up the low end of those realistic averages that puts us at 65 PPG.

Wilson Miller and Mar better score more than 8pts between the 3 of them or else we won't break 50pts. I think those three can put up at least 10pts each every night (30pts).

a win against a really crappy Patriot League team shouldn't sway anyone. But I hope they get off to a great start. Navy was horrible last year and lost their best two players. Should rout them tonight

I AM trying to be positive and will try to be till the end of the year. And I can't wait to see AJ play without the fear of getting pulled for looking at Paulsen incorrectly. Kid will be a beast this year.

There is potential for a lot of balanced scoring on this team, which will give opponents fits in terms of who to focus on.

Miller had a full semester of practice before he was forced into the URI game last season. He knows Paulsen's system.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hartwell gets to 15 PPG.

I won't judge this team till after game 10.

At least GMU knows what to expect from the Navy offense. Quarterback sweep to the left and quarterback sweep to the right. Triple option baby!
Gotta be disciplined against the misdirection. 90% of the time the wingback is window dressing!!!

Not really sure what to expect tonight. Normally, I wouldn't describe myself as "curious" to start the season, but here we are.

To me, is the rest of the team not named Hartwell going to keep going 0-X from 3 (or not bother to take one -- only three players even attempted a three against Catholic)? It'll be really easy to pack it in against this team if Greene, JDS, Miller, and Mar won't take and/or can't make 3s.

Tuesday night....Opening night in the A-10 (or any college basketball conference minus a few select teams) ain't exactly opening day of the baseball season. I am excited though.
