How much longer is Paulsen's contract?
Paulsen has 2 more years after this year. So essentially it breaks down to this:
You either extend him after this year (and assuming they go 9-9 or better, you probably give him an extra 1-2 years if you’re Mason), or you wait until next year and evaluate what to do. They aren’t going to lame duck him so a decision is going to come sooner than later.
Other caveats also include a new president coming in within 6 months, and potentially a new AD. If Brad leaves (which with a new President, sometimes that stuff happens), Dave will have the show me year unless Brad does the extension this year prior to a new PResident and/or him leaving.
So in short I don’t think anyone knows if Dave is going to be around much longer, but as long as Brad is around I suspect he will get a little bit more time assuming wheels dont fall completely off.

I wonder why people think Brad's definitely giving him more time. The contract extensions in the first two years were clear indicators that the clock isn't ticking yet. Those stopped happening... clock is ticking now.
Brad's never getting that SEC job you know he craves unless he can win in basketball at a basketball-first school. Gotta think he's approaching his tipping point as well.

We'll do that after the LaSalle loss. After just 2 conference games this season, IMO it's too early to start a similar thread for Coach Paulsen - http://www.masonhoops.com/board/threads/countdown-to-the-end-of-the-coach-hewitt-era.788/.
before my time on this message board.... hilarious that the "Paulsen rocks" brigade were the first two on the thread saying "Guess what Paul, everyone has injuries, everyone has transfers, everyone has tough losses, everyone has chemistry and effort problems, everyone has holes in their roster, everyone has shooting slumps. After just 2 conference games this season, IMO it's too early to start a similar thread for Coach Paulsen - http://www.masonhoops.com/board/threads/countdown-to-the-end-of-the-coach-hewitt-era.788/.
his buyout owed is 50% of the total dollar amount per year. if he were removed after this season, it would essentially be the same buyout we gave Hewitt.

Can I ask why Souh Carolina or any other P5 program would want BE as an AD so badly? What accomplishments has he had to warrant such rabid interest from any school much less a P5 school. If they just want him beacuse he's an alum and a former NFL player, I guess I get it. But it would seem to me that they would want someone with a consistent, impressive track record that resulted into winning programs for the money sports like Basketball and Football.
Not putting BE down, I honestly want to know.

Own it and fix it, or get out. Responsibility starts at the top." Jesus this is rich. You can't have it both ways folks. These certain fans are either dumb or racist and forgot that this message board has archives
If you read the article from the SC newspaper a few weeks ago, it seems that South Carolina really wants him. Obviously, he's an alum. They think he's smart, well-connected, and will know how to pick a football coach (for when they come to their senses and fire Muschamp.). I highly doubt whether he gets that job is contingent on showing basketball success at a mid-major.Can I ask why Souh Carolina or any other P5 program would want BE as an AD so badly?
