We're 1 pt underdogs to ODU according to KenPom, who still has us ranked at #155, the same as when the season began.

I am surprised there are no jokes about something called Flo Sports yet.

Tech bros gonna tech bro.

By the way, I think the CAA partnered with Flo to stream their games this season, so if you want to watch a bunch of CAA games between now and Christmas, maybe the $30 is worth it (don't say I didn't warn you about buffering, broken streams, and/or lots of technical difficulties trying to get the app to work on your TV).

This should be a more even matchup in terms of overall team quality than any of our games so far. Guard heavy scoring. No one shooting particularly high volume from 3 outside of Xavier Green, so I'm assuming it's a get to the basket kind of offense (haven't seen ODU play yet). Looks like they have a size advantage at the 1 and 2 positions.

Key matchup: who guards Xavier Green (Miller or Greene?)

Curious to see how our defense looks against them, particularly stopping dribble penetration and/or letting the ball go into the corners and closing out on shooters if/when it does (would much prefer to put more ball pressure on the ballhandler and prevent that pass, or at least make it harder, then to expect Miller and/or AJ to read the pass and close out fast enough to prevent an open shot).

$30 for the monthly option? I assumed it was $12.50 - it appears that's only the case if you sign up for a year. Dear God!

"The Monarchs are a top-60 KenPom defensive team (.924 opponent points/possesion) but are a sub-250 offensive team (.948). ODU is 10th nationally in offensive rebounds/contest (14.8)."

ODU left JMU too many open looks from 3. One or more guys that had shot poorly till that game had a strong shooting night against ODU. Same thing happened when ODU played St. Joe's. ODU collapses hard in the paint against drives and leaves outside shooters open, especially in the corners. Stats are a useful tool, but they don't necessarily provide an accurate story of what will happen.

We are not a bad shooting team, we are an inconsistent shooting team. If Hartwell, Greene, and Miller are shooting well ODU better watch out. If they chuck up bricks, it sounds like it'll be a tough night.

This might also be a game where Oduro and AJ's mid-range game might be useful to show up. That elbow jumper that Oduro can hit is a good weapon to have against collapsing teams.
