Can you point to anything he’s done this season to warrant any minutes? Legit question.

mar? No I haven’t seen anything out of him to warrant any minutes. He’s just lucky at this point there arent so many players ahead of him.

At this point if Henry comes in next year and does well, AJ is still around, and everyone out plays him, he may be the 12th spot on the bench.

OK let’s fire the guy, then our promising young players scatter, our recruits decommit and we have to rebuild all over again?

Because we are 11-3 and lost to the team that was picked to win the A-10?

Brilliant!
Our 325 ranked non conference SOS really making people go ballshorny for Paulsen. Some d2 schools play the same type of schedules schedules we did

I’d rather go 9 deep and let him sit this year. I whole heartedly believe that the 8 guys in front of him have the conditioning to absorb his minutes and not die every game.

But I’m sure he has great practices.

And we go from what? Picked 9th in the conference to 11th for a heae

And we go from what? 9th in the conference to 11th for a year? Did every single player leave the team while I wasn’t looking when we fired the last coach? Are we watching the same team?

If you don’t think firing the coach most likely means another total rebuild, you know zip about college basketball. Vast majority of kids sign on with the coach, not the school.

Okay to make it wildly clear since you aren’t seeing the whole picture here:

I would absolutely lose every single recruit we have coming in next year if it means we get a coach who can reignite the fan base and give us a shot at better than 8th in the A10 in the next 4 years, which I don’t believe Paulsen can do.

Jim this is where we start fighting. You are the same internet coach as the rest of us you just tend to “love” more. You don’t know whether or not firing a mediocre clipboard mouthpiece will ruin the program more. Paulsens most talented team was with Hewitts guys. Give me Marko, marquise, Jalen and shevon vs any of these dudes. You agree with his types of players and I say they don’t work. Who says you are right and people that think like me are wrong ? We are both internet warriors you are just nicer and much kinder

@gmujim92 I'm ready to make that wager when you are.

Assuming a new coach means we lose AJ, Mar, Calixte, and possibly XJ.

who else besides the above and the recruiting class from next year do you see leaving in the event of a coaching change? Do you think we’ll compete for the conference next year with our current roster plus Dave’s incoming recruits?

What about our history makes you think we’re going to upgrade the coach? We’ve had exactly two successful coaches in the history of our program and one of them only stayed for one year.

We’re far more likely to do worse, not better than DP.

Here’s where we agree, hiring mid major coaches is an absolute shot in the dark 75% of the time. But I think having new blood and some hope is better than where we are now.

I’ll give you my seat for two games next year (of your choice) if we come in 5th or better this year (5th seems to be your trigger for happiness). They finish worse than that you buy two seats and come to two games in person.

Ill double down and give Jim the seat next to yours for the same two games.

I think the same coach loses two of those next year.... but I’m not an insider

Can we put a clause in the next contract for dave or whoever is the coach that automatically fires the Mason coach if they lose to vcu?

That and setting ourselves on fire seem like the only real solutions.

We’re not beating anyone when our four-man rotation at the 4 and 5 spots combine for 5 points and 8 rebounds in 52 minutes.

Santos-Silva had 26 and 12 by himself.

And I continue to be mystified by the insane regression in Goanar’s game since his foot injury last season.

He airballed a wide-open jumper from the free throw line today. Missed everything.

The guy averaged double figures his first year and was a fringe all-freshman team pick. Now he appears to have lost all confidence, barely plays and contributes next to nothing when he does.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen anything comparable.
