Great to get another win at home and yeah, nice to be 3-0... but there's a boatload of stuff that needs to be fixed pronto before playing JMU. And dont even think about playing this way against UMD

Mason played like crap but found a way.

does it shock anyone else that playing against a Derek Kellogg coaches team Mason had to find a way like this? Seems like whenever they played his Umass teams it was the same thing.

good thing they found a way. Lots to work on but I’m glad they are 3-0. We really need Kier to come back because we know he will be consistent, and the young guys are going to be up and down a lot for the most part.

Last year, we would have loved to have been 3-0 even with a crappy schedule. This team is learning how to play with each other. Justin's return will make us even more whole. I still do not predict a top 4 finish for this team in the A-10, but I am loving what I see regardless of who we're playing. Watching Mason hoops is fun again for the mean time ....

I know they are not 3 good teams, but it's still 3 games we won. Remember thinking we had a soft schedule to start last season and we lost games? We won the game and our offense produced 80 points, i'll take it.

Penn and American were not 3 of the worst 5-10% teams in the country. Penn was good. It was how we lost last year that made it feel horrible

I’m real curious to see the presser. Paulsen’s comments will tell us a lot about his level of expectations for this team and how far he will push them.

My main concern tonight was the lazy passes and unforced errors, which I'm sure Dave will be hammering the playrs about tonight and the next few days. The positive, despite playing against an inferior team, is that we still somehow found a way to win.

Another positive that gets lost in the stats is that Marr appears to be gaining some confidence. Granted, most of the shots didn't fall, but the game will hopefully slow down for him more and more. If that does happen, he can end up being a valuable weapon for this team.

Best meltdown thread after a win in awhile. Obviously it’s better to win then to lose but it’s pretty safe to say that this version of the team that played tonight will not be able to compete with the top 6 teams in the A-10. But we probably should have guessed that already since almost everyone had us ranked 9th or lower in the preseason polls.

Defensive effort was pretty piss poor tonight. Almost like everyone just figured if their man got by them AJ would be there to erase their lazy defense.

Calixte with another disappearing act after a decent start to the game.

Hartwell struggling with any type of backcourt pressure.

Lots of dumb fouls

Goanar missing 3s badly

JDS still not able to hit a 3 pointer

It wasn’t all doom and gloom. There was some good as well and glimmer of hope for the future.

Miller had his coming out game of the season scoring a career high and finally hitting some outside jumpers to go along with his usual put backs.

XJ taking over in crunch time coming through with some late buckets and free throws. Not looking like a freshman. Honestly haven’t been this impressed with a freshman since Luke Hancock.

We survived another game without Kier...hoping things click when he gets back in the fold.

He was 2-12 or close? Hardly happy about that but I guess I understand the point. Played far too much. Calixte getting dogged like AJ last year

It sounds cliche, but I’d rather play terrible and win than play great and lose any day.

This is a team full of guys who are figuring things out on the fly. It’s not one of those veteran groups where you more or less know what to expect from them on a nightly basis. There will be plenty of peaks and valleys.

At this point, without our best player, I don’t care if it’s a freaking masterpiece. We just need to keep winning the games we’re supposed to win. On to the next one.
