That team was so much fun to watch.
Haven't had a "team" here since, just a collection of individuals of varying skill levels and abilities playing glorified pickup ball.

If we lose to Catawba, does Edwards fire Hewitt on the spot?
The angry, spiteful part of me thinks that would be awesome.

Didn't something like that happen at the CAA tourney with American University's coach at the time?
Just curious, what would you like to say to him or expect to hear from him?I'm hoping that Edwards is available before or after the game to talk to the fans.

We have been progressing all four years that Hewitt has been in charge. Oh, I guess not towards the right goal...I would tell him that I can accept the losses, so long as the team is progressing. But, this doesn't appear to me to be the case. And, I don't plan to renew my season tickets next year if this continues and there is no change in the head coaching position.
I would expect him to say that he appreciates my comments.
This brings me to a question I've had related to this game. What is the reason for doing it? I can understand doing it at the beginning of the season where you can use an easy win, and if you lose, no one is paying attention and you can write it off to being early in the season.Playing a D2 or D3 team is embarrassing, but I guess this is what our program has been reduced to.

Bring your pitchforks. If we lose you will need to use them to drive The Virus and all his assistants from Fairfax.
As Tom, mentioned, there was a need for a game. I'm curious if the A10 RPI requirements for OOC games played into this. From my understanding, this game won't impact our RPI, and thus, keeps us in compliance of the league's RPI rules. Had we played, say Howard or UMES, we probably (and I say probably) get a win, but chances are our RPI may dip below the threshold the league has set. This brings me to a question I've had related to this game. The only justification I can think of is that Hewitt wanted to add another game so the players weren't rusty. When we couldn't find a DI team that was available for a road game that week, he got desperate and grabbed the only opponent he could get.
I certainly get moving the game to the RAC, but my main issue is charging season ticket holders who haven't made it to every game or used all of their tickets. I have four season tickets and have only used all four of them twice due to the weeknight games being too late for my kids. When we were good, I had no problem getting people to use the extra tickets; but now it's like I'm doing my family and friends a favor if they come watch us play.
I don't see a benefit for this kind of game mid-season. We get no credit for beating them and if we, somehow, lose, it is a huge black eye.
I disagree. Both eyes are already black, nose is broken and the mouth is bloodied. G Mas losing won't surprise or get any attention outside of the die hards on this board.
