Anyway, don't get me started on the dreadful Redskins. They depress me more than Mason basketball does right now.

How can you be more depressed about the skins, at least for me, I expect to be disappointed by them. Though I am starting to feel that way toward the Patriots, pretty sad.

Johnny Williams passed up a wiide open 15 footer last night. Hewitt looked at him and screamed, "shoot the ball!!!"

The Skins went from being in the playoffs last year to being one of the worst teams in the league this year. Even with RG3 hurt, many so-called experts had us winning the NFC East again this year. At least the "experts" who picked Mason to finish anywhere from 7th-10th in the A10 appear to be spot on.

Adding salt to the wound for the Skins, the Rams are the beneficiary of our crappy season, because they have our #1 pick next year. The good news is we get our salary cap money back, so Snyder can go back to overpaying big-named athletes on the downside of their careers. haha

My sources at the Patriot Center are telling me they had to change the backboard today after Copes broke it with the one shot he took last night. At least I know my Patriot Club donation is going to good use.

I've been blessed to have two boys that are relatively athletically gifted. They in turn have been blessed to have great coaches to develop their talent.

My younger one has played on a Nike Premier Team w/a coach that played professionally in the UK and has a USSF Class A license - a process that requires multiple weeks of training of multiple years to achieve certification and includes managing coaching sessions at the professional level.

My older one has a pair of twin brothers that were a state champ and state runner-up (lost to legendary wrestler Jeff Jordan) in Ohio and went on to coach at St. Edwards in Cleveland - a program that has won multiple national high school championships.

Both of these coaches run extremely intense practices and push the kids outside their comfort zones. On game day though, both sit quietly on the sidelines or mat and say very little. They'll make some corrections during the breaks in action, but say little during the action. Their philosophy has been to prepare their team/players before the game not while it's going on. When the kids are playing well, they don't scream, they encourage and remind them of what they've been taught and encourage them to compete as they're able to.

Of course the flip side is that being good coaches, their athletes are well prepared and don't meltdown when things go South either.

According to Patrick Stevens' Twitter:

"George Mason suspends forward Anali Okoloji indefinitely after his technical foul last night against South Florida".

"Upon second glance on the Okoloji stuff, it is a suspension that "will include" the BB&T Classic game. So maybe just one game."

The team really needs to stop switching on every screen. Jalen did the best he could on guarding Allen Jr driving to the basket but he still had a open lane to drive to get in rhythm.

Univeristy of South Floria sucks. So, G Mas losing at home to University of South Florida, means G Mas sucks. It is what it is. Just not enough talent there. I know folks like to think the team they support has real talent, but G Mas is just short of it.

AO was obviously frustrated because he got pummeled on the other end with no call, so he tackled the first USF ballhandler he could find.

Still, if he hadn't given the little extra shot at the end with his foot, I don't think there would be a suspension. Just a T and that's that.

Obviously wasn't as bad as when Suh stepped on that guy, but it wasn't nothing either. Hewitt was trying to protect one of his players by acting like he didn't know what happened.
