Game 8: AT Towson University, Wednesday, December 2nd, 7 PM, NO TV

I watched the game last night and have to disagree. The defense was lazy, seemed like they all had cement blocks on their feet. Towson got to the basket at will and either hit the layup, got fouled or dished out to an open man for the three. Saw Holloway drop off his man to double some guy in the paint a few times while the man he left got the ball back for an uncontested look just like the Hewitt era.

I ended up listening to Rohland so didnt physically watch the game so maybe I am missing something... how is that on Holloway?

Almost every team from middle school through the NBA doubles a post player in the paint.
Heck it is the scouting report on Shevon right now.

im not saying a full court press will fix it. But a quick trap in the corner or wing can disrupt an opponents flow. Just when they think they got a feel for our defense, bam a turnover.

I certainly expected full court pressure in the second half when the Patriots were trying to catch up. If you didn't know the score, you would have thought it was a close game to the very end.

I'm just unhappy with Coach Paulsen's inflexibility and the fact that we are losing to mediocre teams. Hopefully, the team will start playing the consistent, fundamentally sound basketball that we expected when Paulsen was hired.

• first year at Mason: 9-18,
• second year: 19-11 & NCAAs first round

Paulsen

• first year at Bucknell: 7-23
• second year, 14-17
  
• third year: 25-9 & NCAAs second round

Why would you expect full court pressure when its known that Paulsen's teams never use full court pressure and its been stated here repeatedly his teams have won by playing sound man to man defense (that the team is still struggling to learn and perform for many reasons)?

Larranaga's teams didnt do full court pressure much either IIRC.

He hasn't played an A10 schedule yet. Hopefully by then adjustments will be made and the players are more consistent.

This is spot on....we were awful all 4 years under PH, even his first year we looked like shit on our way to 20+ wins. If we make it to mediocre this season I'll be fired up. I get that message boards are for the die hards, but this shit is ridiculous.....upset because we lost to a mediocre team? We won 9 F'ing games last year and lost our entire freshmen class!!
