Well. It was a valiant effort to claw the game back froN the brink but when you allow yourself to get down that much in the second half you have to play perfect to get over the finish line and too many missed assignments and opportunities once the comeback started to finish it.

I think Haynes needs to think about lowering his NIL demand of 1 million..

He missed 4 gimme layups and 4 free throws and turned the ball over twice in final 10 minutes...constantly falling out of bounds..no reason 6'8 265 pounder can't finish at the rim...lose 15-20 pounds and get more lift if necessary...but reduce the NIL request to 300k.

No tears from me. We had a great season that surpassed all expectations. Bradley played a much better game today and deserved to win, but I love that this team never quit all season.

Haynes carried us all year, so anybody who wants to blame him for an uncharacteristic off day can f-ck off. I have no idea what this team will look like next year, but I do know that Tony is going to fill the roster with players who will bring it every game.

GIVING DAY 2023
We made that a game after looking dead, and did that with Anderson being out a chunk and Newton being unavailable. Bradley took us out of our game for a good chunk of the game. They made some ridiculous shots but that doesn’t excuse our lack of effort at certain points of the game especially defensively.

Haynes can only do so much. Not his fault the team lost. Bradley played better basketball today for 40 minutes and by the time Mason woke up, it was too late.

Overall it was an awesome season, I had the time of my life last weekend rooting for our program all the way to the championship game. 27 wins, 18-2 at home and an a10 record 15 in conference wins. I expect us to have Friday night a10 games next year and overall better scheduling opportunities.

Time for Tony and staff to reload. We were built for 2 years and now we have to find the right mix for 2-3 years hopefully. Hats off to their finds for 2 years (Maddox Newton billups) and then supplementing with a guy like KD. Come to mason and boogie.

Team came out of the locker room at the half looking totally deflated and on auto-pilot (they literally moped on to the court). Took them 5 game minutes to wake up but too much damage done. Especially with all the missed cupcakes and 2nd chance opportunities.

Oh well, season over. Let the offseason whining and bitching commence!

Sure, he carried the team. No one would deny that.

But he, like every other college basketball player, is a paid professional with a sports agent, negotiating terms of his next gig.

He made a highlight reel of himself dropping 29 points on Bam adebayo, a 7 time all NBA defense 1st teamer, in summer league when he was in the portal to leverage his value.

Skinn said publically that 2/3 of his playback run thru Haynes so he is the number 1 option.

The facts he came into this season 20 pounds over his playing weight at ETSU which effected his stamina, leaping ability to finish at the rim and make throws down the stretch.

All of which came into play against Bradley in the 2nd half.

Given that he's demanding one million dollars in NIL (Hunter Dickinson money) from a school doesn't have a fraction of a resources of a Blue Blood, he should have come into this season in a whole lot better shape and played better than he did today.

I think this team was a little offensively challenged at times but defense always plays. Replacing Billups is going to be very difficult he almost willed them to the win again today. Tony gets it, while I think he continues to grow as well.

Jalen makes a couple bunnies and it likely comes down to the last possession. Where does Tony go from here? The standard has been set, he wants an ncaa bid and I think it’s within reach. Over the last 10 years they were no where close. As he established his style I think it’s known now what guys can expect coming to play for Tony.

The bar is different and the kids will be different. Great season and make no mistake he went out and got exactly what he thought he needed to win the A10 and they came up just short. He’ll figure it out, he’s too competitive not to.

We need a point guard, a shooting guard, and a stretch 4.

I said last season we know we’d be a good team if Jared Billups loses his starting spot and I think the same is true next year but with BOC. O’Connor (if he accepts it) can be the 6th man of the year if he embraces it.

We need to get better offensively, mostly in taking care of the ball, but also being able to space the floor and drive and kick.

And NCAA team will be top 100 in offensive efficiency at top 50 in defensive efficiency.
