Game 29: AT George Washington University, Sunday, February 26th, 2 PM, NO TV

Mason is coming off the first back-to-back losses since 11/21 against Houston. I am not at all disappointed in this team, but losing this game would be a bit of a letdown. In order to make this a "rivalry" we have to actually start winning some games. With their size, GW is a bad match up for us. Last time out, GW ran a set against us that took advantage of our defensive switching principals and left Otis overmatched in the post time and time again. I hope DP has a game plan to counter this time.

I see this as a very important game. If we lose two of these last three (4 of last 5), all momentum will be lost going into the conference tournament.

I can't remember us ever beating GW going back years- so I feel like we are due

12/1/10: Mason 60 - GW 46

1/23/89: Mason 94 - GW 75

http://gomason.com/news/2017/2/24/m...enews-revolutionary-rivalry-sunday-at-gw.aspx:

"Sunday's game marks the 20th all-time meeting in the Revolutionary Rivalry. GW holds a 17-2 advantage in the series. George Mason and George Washington are separated by just 20 miles. The Patriots are 2-5 against the Colonials at home and 0-12 on the road. GW has captured all seven meetings in A-10 play, including an 87-68 victory on Jan. 25 in Fairfax.Marquise Moore (15 pts, 10 reb), Otis Livingston II (17 points, 7-14 FG) and Ian Boyd (12 pts) led the Patriots in the game."

http://www.gwsports.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/022417aaa.html:

"SUPER STEEVES: The graduate student has found his form in the last month, reaching double figures in scoring six times in the last nine games and establishing new season highs three times. Steeves, who missed seven games in December with a knee injury, hit double figures in the scoring column for the first time this season with 11 at George Mason on Jan. 25. He followed with 13 the next game against Saint Louis, and then had the best scoring output of his career when he went for 26 off the bench on Thursday vs. UMass."

A win over GW and a loss by LaSalle today would go a long way in preventing Mason from playing in the 8/9 game. The opposite could easily occur, which would obviously have the opposite effect. With Fordham and Davidson's losses (and tough remaining schedules) in their last games a 6-8 seed is very likely for GMU. Come on Mason - beat GW!

Technical question. My son set me up with Chromecast so that I can put anything on youtube and put it through my TV. Is there a way to do that for the A10/facebook stream of the game as well?

Definitely not an easy win. I'd almost be surprised if we win at all.

I have a feeling it will be a shootout since I took the under.
