Great win where I didn’t think we would with all the injuries. Even with so many back, I thought they wouldn’t be ready to play well. Glad I was wrong.

On the down side, except for the 3 students with the fat heads, the student section was more sedate than our season ticket sections. Really would have been nice if we had something like a fan cheer guide to help generate some energy...

Next home game is Senior Night vs. vcu. There should be a bit of energy in the building for that one.

Do we know why Kier came off the bench tonight? Just to put Otis and Hartwell out there together more?

Rohland said it was a teaching moment from last game to start both halves on the bench. Sounds like Paulsen was not happy with Kier's play at the end of the first half (he was obsessed with the last 3:00 minutes of the first half against Duquesne). Or maybe it was to get Copes4Three off his back about playing favorites.

I thought at the post game that Paulsen said that Kier was "late for a lift", which I took as late for a weight lifting session and that it was "a teachable moment". But I may have misheard or misinterpreted what he meant,

Rohland said the same thing at the start of the broadcast. Kier was late for a weightlifting workout.

How did we look overall? I can glean some of it from the boards but I’m halfway across the world and could t watch on my hotels garbage WiFi.

A little up and down. We missed a bunch of easy shots to open the second half which would have busted the game wide open. Our defense broke down several times in early first half and gave Richmond some ridiculously wide open shots.

But there were also stretches where we gave them nothing defensively. We didn’t double the post every single time and when we did it seemed to be timed better.

I like the idea of hartwell and Otis playing together. Otis is a great driver and has a deadly mid range game, if he has less pressure of running the offense maybe his offense can get back to his previous seasons consistency.

Speaking of hartwell, do we know his status? Was it just a cramp? We need him the rest of the way

Completely agree, but to add, it allows Hartwell to guard the opponent's PG especially if they are quick. Otis' D is getting much better, but I would rather see him concentrate on his O (no pun intended) especially with Hartwell in the game.

Not particularly good or bad. Richmond looked motivated at the start and jumped out to a lead but seemed to lose steam and completely give up after we eventually took the lead. They never were able to mount any type of comeback in the second half.

I cannot believe Richmond beat us this season. That team is like 2 deep with Gilyard and Golden.... Really really bad and not looking that much better next year either.

Huge last two games. If we can go 2-1 while beating vcu at home (big lift I know) we’ll own the tiebreaker over them (Bona 0-1 vs. vcu and don’t play them again).

We already have the tiebreaker since we beat Dayton and they did not (so long as Dayton stays above us) :)

I realize it doesn't fit your narrative, but they had won 5 of 7 and start all freshman and sophomores. Not sure why you wouldn't expect them to be better next year.

you know what I am actually wrong because I forgot they got Blake Francis (transfer) he will be one of the best scorers in A10 next year.. their second best player has been out all year too and is only a junior just FYI.
