PATRIOT POINTS
• Dayton is the highest-ranked opponent Mason has ever hosted in a home game. The previous top AP opponent, #6 Georgetown, won 75-63, on Dec. 2, 1985, during the inaugural EagleBank Arena season.
• The Patriots are 1-3 all time against top-5 opponents, with the victory coming against UConn in the 2006 Elite Eight.
• Mason is coming off a 62-55 victory over Saint Joseph's Saturday. The Patriots held SJU to 33.9 percent for the game, including a paltry 1-of-14 mark (.071) from 3 in the second half.
• After struggling to defend the 3 early in conference play (.387 thru nine games), Mason has held its opponent to less than 31 percent in four of the past five games. Opponents are shooting 26.5 percent (26-98) from beyond the arc during that stretch.
• After limiting Saint Joseph's to 33.9 percent from the floor Wednesday, Mason is now 12-1 when holding its opponent under 40 percent shooting on the year.
•
Javon Greene led Mason with 20 points and eight rebounds vs. the Hawks. He made 6-of-8 field goals and 4-of-5 3-point attempts in the second half.
•
AJ Wilson added 13 points, six rebounds and four blocks while
Jamal Hartwell II tallied 13 points and hit 3-of-4 3pt attempts.
• Sophomore
Jordan Miller posted 10 points and tied a career high with four assists. He's scored 10+ points in seven-straight contests.
• The Patriots have averaged 17.8 turnovers/game over the past five contests after taking care of the ball well for much of the season. Mason averaged 12.2 turnovers through the first nine games of A-10 play.
• After being out-rebounded in the first three A-10 games (-13.6 average margin), the Patriots have held the rebounding edge in 10 of the past 11 games (+5.5 average margin). The Patriots are now fourth in the A-10 in rebounding margin (+2.7) on the year.
• With four regular season games left,
AJ Wilson will look to become the first A-10 player since Hassan Martin (URI) in 2014-15 to record 100 blocks in a season. Only 11 A-10 players have accomplished the feat since 1980-81.
• Three of Mason's final four opponents are ranked in the KenPom top-100. Dayton is the Patriots' second top-10 KenPom foe this season (No. 10 Maryland/Nov. 22).
HISTORY vs. DAYTON
Tuesday's matchup marks the 11th all-time meeting between Mason and Dayton. The programs played a four year home-and-home series from 2007-2010, before the Patriots joined the A-10 in 2013-14. The Flyers hold a 7-3 advantage in the series, although Mason has won the past two contests. Dayton is 4-2 in league contests vs. Mason. Last season, the Patriots won in UD Arena, 67-63, on Jan. 23. Mason trailed 63-60 with 2:58 left and the crowd on their feet, but the Patriots went on to close the game on a 7-0 run and hold Dayton scoreless over the final minutes of the contest.
Jarred Reuter (14 pts),
Otis Livingston II (13 pts, 4 ast) and
Justin Kier (12 pts) all reached double figures in the victory.
A LOOK AT THE #4/#3 FLYERS (25-2, 14-0 A-10; NET No. 4, KenPom No. 6)
Dayton was picked to finish third in the 2019-20 A-10 preseason poll, but has transformed from preseason conference contender to Final Four contender during a heralded regular season campaign. The Flyers are ranked fourth in the AP poll and sport a 25-2 record and unblemished conference mark. Dayton features the second most efficient offense in the nation (1.184 points/possession), the top-ranked effective field goal percentage (.593) and the No. 1 2-point percentage (.620). Likely 2020 NBA lottery pick Obi Toppin leads the potent Flyer attack with 19.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while shooting 62.7 percent from the floor. Point guard Jalen Crutcher adds 15.0 points and 4.7 assists while shooting 42 percent (63-150) from deep. Trey Landers (10.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and Ibi Watson (10.2 ppg, .402 3pt FG%) also average double figures for the Flyers.
MASON ALL TIME VS. TOP-10 TEAMS

Dave Paulsen era, with the most recent contest on Nov. 22 at No. 6 Maryland this season.
