I couldn't believe the refs had to discuss it for as long as they did. It is something you just don't see happen all the time.

When will people figure out that coaches stepping on the floor in live play never gets a technical? If the refs cared that much, a warning would be issued and it would stop.
All I can think of is that maybe if they were deciding whether it went against the bench, the coach, or the player.

the ref closest that physically pushed Baptiste back did not blow his whistle.. The ref across the court had to call it.. The ref closest was going to let it go... It was hilarious to watch McCall and the ref try and push Baptiste back to the sideline... Chatman just ran off the court... The whole sequence was really weird.

Yeah at first I thought they were going to let it go. I couldn’t tell if the ref closest to him realized just how far he had come on to the court. Probably not a T the refs are used to assessing.

Notice after every win we’re saying things like “just glad we got it, a win is a win, take it and move on, ugly win but a win...” I think we are just seeing our team as they are- slow paced, muck it up in D, and pray we get some outside shots to fall. I’ll take it as long as it’s producing more wins than losses, and I think we need to embrace the ugliness. Let’s just root for dirty, stinky basketball...because lord knows we’re not winning any shootouts with a good team.
Mason is #3 in points per game in the A10 at 72

the difference between winning and losing is the maturity Mason is showing. They get extra stops on d. They make free throws. They make a key play like a rebound or drawing another foul.

These are items that show program maturity. In the past Mason teams wilt under pressure especially when they went down under a minute to go. It’s nice to see.

We do play some ugly ball at times. But if it results in wins you gotta take it. Tonight, with Claixte out,, Mar and Grayer out too, ugly is the new normal going forward. Maybe next year, with Grayer, we see more firepower on offense.

I saw the 2nd half on tv. Did not realize Calixte was out. Hope he is not out for the season.

Shoutout to whoever was in the Green Machine yelling every time Otis took a free throw. Nothing says homecourt advantage like trying to distract your own free-throw shooter.

Terminator 2?

I would like to submit Godfather II for consideration as a suquel that was better than its predecessor. As much as I absolutely loved the first movie, the sequel is one of my all-time favorites.

PS: Happy to get the win tonight. And that's all I've got to say about that. #forrestgump

I got some grey hair tonight but a win is a win.... Refs were spotty on calling ticks tack fouls that benefited us and then when Reuter got chop blocked from their 500 lb center they held the whistle. very confused... I thought AJ provided some crucial minutes for us tonight. Greene ever improving offensively which is great. Otis did well when needed. Jordan Miller is a fan favorite and should be. What the heck is going on with Boyd?!?!
I’m kinda getting the feeling that Boyd is tired of being a 6th man and it’s showing in his effort. He’s thrown some really lazy passes these past few games.

Honestly I don't see a leader on this team and a killer instinct. Not sure how to fix that.

I thought it was going to be Kier but after his slump he seems to have gone back to deferring to Otis.

Good point, the Hewitt era teams went into absolute panic mode the last 3 minutes of every game with no timeouts left of course. This current Mason team never gives you the idea that they are going to lose a game with a 5 point lead and a minute to go.

That crowd was embarrassingly pathetic last night, absolutely refused to stand up during crucial possessions at the end of regulation and late in overtime. As bad as our crowds usually are, that was the worst I've ever seen at such crucial moments so late in a game.
