Why do we have to wait until after next year to freak out? We are in year three of DP with all of his guys and already people have gone from predicting us to be a tourney team to suggesting we may not even be .500 next season. Fans, feel free to freak out, be angry and question the process. This loss to Fordham was a joke. If you’re not freaking out about next year yet, I’m questioning if you’re even watching.

Our defense is awful. I’ve been asking for some type of pressure defense for 3 seasons but ya’ll say we have to learn how to play halfcourt D first, when’s that going to happen? But nope, let’s trot back after a made basket with our backs to our opponent. Let’s continue to sag off our men around the 3 point line to double the post. Let’s contiue to go under ball screens. Let’s continue to only make adjustments into the nubby match up zone. Guys, this is coaching. I know it gets everyone upset when DP is questioned but it’s time for everyone to hold him accountable, including himself.

I sure hope we put on a show for everyone in EBA today. I’m tired of being embarrassed by GW.

I was at the GW game, and it was awesome. Again - the Fordham loss was shitty and maddening. I'm all for holding DP accountable. One game does not a season make though. Watching Mason rout Dayton at a local watering hole was nearly as fun as watching the win against GW in person. Overall, I'm proud of what I have seen from this team to this point and am starting to feel good about next year. (and don't get me wrong, I have been scared for the future at times this year)

Very fair of you Jim. But were the Bonnie's and Davidson 30 pts better than us? Fordham can barely score 40 points some games and they beat us. We lost to William and Mary and almost lost to schools that are glorified D2 schools. Paulsen in game was horrible the first time against GW and he switched it up and it worked the second time. I love the improvement but we have looked like the worst team in the world 3-5 times this year. Would love to see that number go down to 0-1 next year.

I hear you - but overall I think Paulsen has a good feel for his team. I guess he said something to the effect of "Some night, you'll leave the arena shaking your head in disgust." while other nights fans will be thrilled with what they see. (at the beginning of the year) Pretty much what we have seen this year. Just hoping the team can split the next two in Philly. I agree, next year is big - and hopefully GMU is much more consistent.
