Game 20: Duquesne University, Saturday, January 23rd, 4 PM, NO TV

Normally, I wait till after the previous game is played to start the next thread, but I saw this from Bill Rohland on Twitter last night:

EARLY talk of major storm makes me wonder about Duquesne coming to Fairfax on Sat. Not many open dates line up if it is postponed. #snow

Duquesne is playing vcu tonight in Richmond (which is on MASN/7 PM). There is nothing going on according to EagleBank arena's website the following day, or anything else until the 28th (women's game). The men have the entire week off after that game. Duquesne plays LaSalle at home on the 26th.

After Wednesday's game is done, I will add the stats and other info to this thread.

I know we've played many of games in the snow before but based on some early snow predictions I've seen, I wish they would just postpone this game.

I agree- I think I have already hit my quota of trying to get to Mason games in snowstorms, and I don't want to exceed it. I'm sure many others here agree.

Unfortunately if the other team gets to Fairfax in time (say Friday), they'll play.

It would be nice to get a postponement, no way im driving to Fairfax from Culpeper in 12+ inches of snow for this game.

I would use any excuse to get out of Culpeper, regardless of conditions ;) (grew up in Spotsylvania, so I can't talk too much trash)

Playing on Sunday the 24th or rescheduling to the 28th (doubleheader with women's game) would both be drastic options that could be taken.

If Duquesne is smart (e.g. not Towson), they will get down here Friday morning.

I'm hoping the game is postponed. I had planned on going to this game from out of town. Maybe I can exchange my Duquesne ticket for a ticket to the Davidson game - the game I plan on attending instead.

Then it comes down to where the refs are coming from the day prior.

Judging from this year's refs, that shouldn't be a problem. The circus is in town and I understand they have a load of clowns with nothing to do.

Biggest snow storm this area has seen in a very long time. They need to be proactive here and reschedule. Not worth risking player and fan safety just for a bball game.

They have a 12-7 overall record, 2-4 in the A-10 coming into this game.

Stats are here: http://www.goduquesne.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2015-2016/teamstat.html

Derrick Colter is averaging 17.4 PPG, Micah Mason is averaging 15.4 PPG, and LG Gill is averaging 6.5 RPG.

Last season's box score is here: http://www.goduquesne.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2014-2015/duq-gmu.html (Mason lost 62-53)

Duquesne was at vcu last night, maybe they are coming straight to Fairfax and staying here for multiple nights?

Per one of my contacts - Duquesne is expected to arrive in town Thursday (they were in Richmond to play vcu last night). Of course things can change, but we’re anticipating that the game will be played.

That's great that both teams will be there, but refs come in the day of the game and the people to run the Patriot Center, support crew, etc. Asking them to come in during a blizzard where you are told to stay off the road. And I am sure Duquesne really wants to spend two extra days in Fairfax. And playing in front of 200 people. One open concession stand just to get a game in. Not sure it is the best idea.
