Sixth Man
God I knew this was coming.
Haha I knew THAT was coming!
God I knew this was coming.
Mystery solved. Jake Nichols. Forgot he joined the team. The official roster on gomason isn't any help on that front.
It’s not Paulsens players, it’s walk ons in every single D1 program.https://twitter.com/TheTeamBBC/status/1149437483417030660/photo/1:
"He just turned 17 years old in March 17, 2019 and currently have a 3.719 gpa."
Is there a common thread for Paulsen's walk-on players?

We def have more than most, but if you don’t have over a 3.0 you won’t be a walkon the next season at any D1 school. I don’t know why we have 5.But, how many D-I programs have 5 walk-ons to help raise the team's gpa?
How did AJ do?
Let’s not talk about that. How did AJ do?
They're not white, they're cream.Are those home uniforms a dingy looking/yellowish white?

Probably because they help the coach hit the team GPA incentive in his contract.
Do we know if this is how Dave's contract works? I believe for APR purposes only scholarship players count... part of the reason you can be cynical about those heartwarming videos of a walk-on getting a scholly. It's always going to a guy getting a 3.8 or higher that's gonna lift the team GPA.
I'd be a little mad if we're paying Dave more because he's stuffing the bench with nerd walk-ons to raise the team GPA, then lamenting how good the starters look in practice after we get our doors blown off.

We need a hard nosed beat reporter to get to the bottom of this!Do we know if this is how Dave's contract works? Lot of good info in there. Looks like we’ll know before April 30th this year Paulsens fate (hopefully immediately following our A10 tourney exit but beggars can’t be choosers)https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1ZJrUWferb4eFRyUHI1X2dsQkZFaXNqcnE4LVRvX1BGYmxJ/view
https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/research/academic-progress-rate-explained#:~:text=The APR, or Academic Progress, athlete for each academic term.:
"The APR is calculated as follows:
Teams must earn a four-year average APR of 930 to compete in championships."
- Each student-athlete receiving athletically related financial aid earns one point for staying in school and one point for being academically eligible.
- A team’s total points are divided by points possible and then multiplied by 1,000 to equal the team’s Academic Progress Rate.
- In addition to a team’s current-year APR, its rolling four-year APR is also used to determine accountability.

That attendance threshold of 4,600 average home attendance is interesting, too. That gives us an indication of what Brad thought was a reasonable goal for the program in the near term.
