Game 15: University of Massachusetts, Sunday, January 11th, 1 PM, NO TV

I tried that once, and some idiot three rows up from me yelled out the NFL score with only two minutes left in the Mason game. You could hear about 10 people in our section moan in unison, because we were all recording the game.

What I've done since in these situations is stream the NFL games on my iPad while watching the Mason game. I only offer updates to people in my section if they ask me. I will definitely have my iPad tomorrow if I go to the Mason game.

Exactly. Plus the announcer is likely to announce the score.

UMass is down this year, we should win this at home. We do rebound better than them. Jenkins needs to tighten up and learn that he can't drive to the basket every time he has the basketball. He needs to take a 10 foot jumper when needed instead. I don't know how hard it is for Hewitt to tell him this and have them practice this. Thompson can clean up the rebound if he misses.

I hope all you season ticket holders who aren't planning on going to the game are at least trying to sell or give away your tickets so those seats may not be empty.

"BOARDED UP: The Patriots are a team loaded with flaws, but one thing they can take pride in is their rebounding prowess led by junior college transfer Shevon Thompson. The 6-foot-11 Thompson is third in the nation in offensive rebounding with 71 for the season and is averaging 11.4 total boards per game.

Thompson’s presence could pose a significant challenge to a Minutemen squad that gave up 16 offensive rebounds to La Salle and has dealt with foul trouble between Lalanne and Bergantino over the last two games."

"John Francis Kennedy Champions Center
Coming Summer of 2015

On April 26, 2013, in conjunction with the University’s 150th Anniversary
Alumni Weekend festivities, ground was broken for the John F.
Kennedy Champions Center, a $28.5 million, 53,000 square foot complex
that will be the new home for the men’s and women’s basketball
programs daily operations.
The facility - which will be located at the South end of the Mullins
Center - is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2014 and will give both
the men’s and women’s basketball programs a dedicated practice and
training facility.
The ground floor will consist of the primary player development
areas of the facility. In addition to the two full-size practice courts,
the lower level will house the player’s lounge and locker rooms, the
sports medicine and weight rooms, theater-style film room, dining
area, laundry facilities and equipment storage
A Legacy Hall dedicated to the tradition and history of both programs
will run the length of the East side corridor and lead to a tunnel
connecting the Champions Center to the Mullins Center.
The upper level will consist of office suites and conference rooms
for both programs, and an entry foyer with a VIP lounge and balcony
overlooking both practice courts.
A live Internet web stream similar to the one at the Football Performance
Center at McGuirk Stadium will go online in the coming
months to track the progress as well.
The facility will also be used for campus events such as intramural
basketball championships."

UMass is favored by 1 1/2 points.

UMass continues to hold as a 1.5 favorite against Mason; UMass is 4-3 against the spread on the road while Mason is 4-2 against the spread at home.

After yesterday's games, the rpiforecast has moved UMass to a .7 favorite (from .4).
