I just wish we could play a complete game. We were doing well most of the first half, but it seemed like when Singleton went out hurt, we fell apart. The second half we were flat outplayed, and it seemed like every time we switched, their shooter was wide open.

Also don't know why we started firing up (and missing) threes in the 2nd half when we were having pretty good success moving the ball down low for layups.

So disappointing - seems like this was very win-able.

We dumb. Schmidt got all new players. CkE has way more experienced players. Except Schmidt is trying to win a college game and CkE is coaching like he in the NBa. Damn, that sounds like what Ryan Pearson said in comparing OCM to The Virus. Go listen.

To me this game is a good indicator of whether we have actually improved since Virgin Islands, or if we are still largely incapable of winning on the road.

This is a team we should beat with the talent we have, but so was BC, Belmont, Buffalo, ODU...

Can CKE improve what is an absolutely terrible road record up to this point in his HC career and earn his 3rd conference road win?

We have 9 road conference games, and this is arguably the 4th most winnable game - so truly should show whether we have a chance to go .500 on the road in conference (which I would take as a significant step forward and be happy with).
Nope - we are who we thought we were #DennisGreen

Are we willing/able to guard the opponents best player? Not to date. Sorry result, but hey, we're GMU we lose on the road.

English is a language I just don't understand. No clear meaning offensively or defensively.

"This is a very disappointing outcome but it's one that was deserved," head coach Kim English said. "We gave up 52 percent field goal defense for the game and 66 percent in the second half. When you let other players take the ball from you nine times, you don't deserve to win. There's a recipe of what it takes to win on the road. Ball security and defense are two ingredients. We didn't do that at all."

Can't even beat a shitty St. Bonny team in a down year with all of these experienced players. Just dumbfounding.

Oduro - what's up with you man!? You should be dominating these A-10 forwards night in and night out.... best player on the court who should be putting up 20-25 points a game. You have 0 fierceness and desire and heart and passion to go out there and dominate. What happened to you man? Have you checked out on the school year and dreaming of what's next in basketball? Or are you banging one of the hottest chicks on campus and she's got your mind and balls on a mantle?

Bc it's nba ball. We don't have nba guys. Moreso, all the offensive freedom given to college players is good at times, but I think it hurts their defense in the long run. We can't guard a team put together over the summer while having most if our core back. And we old. All these losses make our coaching look bad.

In all honesty, our "experienced" players just aren't that good. Who has shown up EVERY night? No one. It's a crap shoot to see who, if anyone, will play well. If two or three play well at home we win. If no one steps up on the road, we lose. Just a fact of life we have to live with.

Agreed. But Josh has to take it upon himself to realize he's the stud, our superstar, our Batman. He HAS to show up every night whether it be on the road or at home. The Robins/supporting cast can differ each night and complement him but we have to have our stud show up each night and play out his mind.

Look at the passion Will Thomas, Ryan Pearson, Mike Mo, Cam Long, Jesse Young, Erik Herring brought to the games each night..... they had heart and passion and knew they needed to show up each night.

I thought KE can light this fire under Josh but he just hasn't shown up.

One last thing, ojiako had zero pts, 12 mins. We could of feasted down low but I dunno what the pluck is going on with pur 3 out style.

If I remember he wasn’t doing well defensively, and got pulled after the ball hit his hands for a live ball turnover.

Don’t know where to start but this is a tough one. Like coach said, if a team shoots 52 percent and 66 from the field you don’t deserve to win.

It was going to take everything we had to win a game like this one. Unfortunately when we needed a stop or a 3 we didn’t get it. Cooper took a terrible 3 towards the end and that was all she wrote. Banks hit a few big shots when it mattered even though he went quiet for much of half 2.

Offensively, while the team had rough patches I thought the scheme and execution was fine. Many times we had an open 3 or a cut for a layup. That said we missed a lot at the rim tonight. I thought Venning played really well defensively. Also, I liked when the offense went through Oduro, either in the post or at the top of the key. It seemed to work.

Defensively, I thought we slowed them at times, but they got too many easy baskets and Banks hit some really tough ones. There was a period in the second half when Bonaventure didn’t score for a good 4 minutes. However in the last five, mason just couldn’t get enough stops.

if Mason wants top 4, they are going to have to find a way to sneak an unexpected few wins. This was one that was winnable and they fell short. Disappointing.

Also, nowhere near Hewitt 2.0. I see adjustments, clear Plays on offense and decent defense scheme. Sometimes there are breakdowns but I can’t see any comparisons. I just don’t think we are where English wants us to be and he has to find a way to win a few games like this. Winning at home is great, but somehow he has to improve on the road.
