Late 2nd half check in, network issues. Glad were fighting to stay in this game, in the beginning I thought this was going to be another blowout. Lets chase that lead!

Why is Vegas so damn smart? We are getting a thorough a** whooping, then suddenly get right back within the spread

Missed bunny by Gujanicic, missed front end of "1 and 1" followed, air ball 3 attempt by Abram and charge by Livingston seals loss.

I like Livingston and Grayer a lot.

Tough loss tonight. Frustrating turnover rate, but good effort.

As an aside, the television feed featured a very disturbing ad for catheters, presented by a "commercial cowboy". It played a few times during the span of the game. I need to purge it from memory, but the water in my shower isn't hot enough to wash away the ickyness.:pewew:

Only 2 turnovers in the second half, though. The first 12 minutes were about as rough as you can get...but to be down 27-9 and battle back to 53-52 is pretty promising.

I saw that guy yesterday - what the hell? I watched the game on the computer - no commercials.

Not too upset about this loss. UNI is a very good team coming off a bad loss with alot of senior starters.

Versus us, a team with 3 freshmen getting alot of playing time. Team fought hard.

We were just out-experienced tonight.

Well said, Chank. I wish we would have been a little better prepared coming out of the gate — too many turnovers on offense and wide-open 3s on defense — but they gained their composure, fought back and made a game of it. At the end of the day, that's all we can really ask of a young team playing against an experienced team like Northern Iowa.

Just hope that isn't in your future...

Based on the short body of work, if this is supposed to be a bad year of basketball due to the rebuild and a bunch of freshmen.. ...then I am excited for the future potential.

Pleased with our effort. Not pleased, though not surprised, with the final result. Under Blewitt we would have folded up the tent and lost by 25. Northern Iowa, right now, is who we can and should aspire to become. Right now, they just have better players. Time will tell whether Paulsen can recruit the players we need to equal such heights. Play the freshman as much as possible because our seniors aren't taking us anywhere near the promised land. I have to admit I do like Marko's game, he has been a pleasant surprise to date. Jalen has some intangibles to work with. Shevon, still a work in progress, no hopes of the NBA as some here have professed. Holloway, done, stick a fork in him and let him ride the pine from here on out. Otis, "My man", has the heart and gives the effort of a champion. Grayer has great potential. DeAndre shows potential as well. Again, pleased with our heart, no quit in this team. If we can go 7 - 6 OOC and win 5 or 6 in conference we will have reached my prediction for the year. Still love my Patriots, still disappointed in the piss poor crowds.

Marko missing the bunny started the slide. Almost 4 minutes of scoreless offense. 7-0 UNI run pretty much put it out of reach, especially when we thought it was better to try layups instead of 3s.

Hope I'm wrong, but I'm foreseeing a 6-7 OOC. JMU appears to be decent. Still - get the 4 or 5 A-10 wins and it'll surpass last year's 9 win year. I'll take that in year 1.

How'd he miss that? Ugh!

From the UNI boards:

Nice win by the Panthers! I am in DC for work so was able to see it in person. GMU has some big dudes who really pushed our guys around! Coach Jake really challenged the squad when he took the timeout with 5+ left and they responded well, but our bigs need to get tougher! That said, the officials SUCKED! I thought Coach Jake might get a T, but was good he kept his cool because the crowd was really wanting to get into the game, but the Panthers were able to quiet them down at key points in the game.

Anyone notice the pep band director? He was a cross between Dr. John and a pimp!

A few posts down:
That was the band director? Saw him singing with their students and thought he was a student until he walked away.

What did the big banner say at half court that two people were holding up at half time?

I think you are talking about a logo of the American Sports Network that was broadcasting the game. It served as background to the announcers covering the game at the half when the tv camera was focused on them. Keeps the fans in the seats behind the announcers table from waving/phoning their family/friends.
