It's a shame but all you can do is wish him the best and move on. The kid blew up at the end of the season and may have been difficult to keep anyway. We should change the name of the thread and save it for the 4 or 5 new guys who will hopefully be coming to play here in 2015.

Weird that a kid commits to play for one of the worst college basketball coaches on the planet, then decides to leave when we hire a guy who has had proven success, but I guess there's no sense trying to understand teenagers.

I think it's telling that two days ago Ahmad and his coach tweet that he was going to wait until the end of May to make his decision... then less than 24 hours later he commits to Minnesota. Way to stick with the game plan guys! Minnesota probably threatened to offer some other guys and said they would take the first player that verballed and he was scared he might lose out.
