Still working through the Ike pod (Jesus it’s long, but enjoying it so far). What’re the odds well see Pearson, GOATis, Jalen Jenkins at some point? Are y’all open to talking to Shevom Thompson about his G league time? I think it would be interesting to contrast his experience in the G league with other guys time overseas.

We agree. Shevon has had a nice career in the G League and now overseas. Our goal is to talk to any former Mason player who has played overseas. We probably also would have no issue in bending that goal here and there (we've had a few discussions of notable former Mason athletes who are internationally known).

Enjoyed the Mike & Ike show. I hope folks listened to them talk about this message board and how toxic it is and how the players and their families occasionally check-in but generally try to avoid it because of the negativity. For those who don't think your daily criticism has an impact on players, recruits and families...

LOL Mike and IKE played thru one of the greatest periods of Mason basketball ever... were the boards really that bad complaining about players back then? if so you guys have totally changed. any criticism of a player is met with at least 3 comments on how the commenter is a jerk and these are just kids.... I mean how much can you really complain about Coach L and those teams? Also, it is really funny that the people who were somewhat overtly racist to Hewitt and super f**king horrible to "kids" like Copes hold such a moral compass now. not saying you at all just speaking in generalizations.

FT shooting and foul trouble I think were the complaints for Morrison. Other than that, he was well liked.

Ike Tate, however, was talked about in the same way you talk about Josh Oduro.

Edit: Should also point out that a lot of opposing fans (Drexel, ODU, vcu especially) thought our guys were "thugs." Morrison and Pearson especially. Both of those guys were super physical and took no crap from anyone.

did you have a bunch of recruits that were better in high school and better last year that the coaches supposedly "chose" Ike over? I mean there is a pretty damning list of "choices" Paulsen supposedly made that have turned out horrible so far.... Jahmir Young and the Elon kid top two in my head... Reynolds better have chosen St Joe's rather than it being some "choosing" BS

What in that class? Or just overall? I think his class was Cam, Tate, and Vlad. I could not tell you who we missed out on 13 years ago. To be honest, I think for the fans they had unreasonable expectations because he came from DeMatha and he just needed some seasoning to get comfortable with the ball in his hands in the open court at the D1 level. We love him now.

Also, you can’t really compare Oduro to Young. Paar, yes, but the jury is out there on that one.

Thanks Matt! Tonight we'll be checking back in with our second guest, Fallyn Stephens (Adelphi, '20). Yes, she's not a Mason alum, but we hope you'll tune in because she's great and she's doing great things over in Iceland for her club Hamar. (Also, she has been a big fan of the pod for our other guests, so we'd venture a guess she's a Mason fan by now too...don't know...so maybe we'll ask her).

Anyway, thinking we'll probably throw up the video to our YouTube Channel as soon as we can, so subscribe to us and hit the little bell icon to be notified when all our content appears. I think we'll probably get the audio out to all the By George platforms Monday as we do a little more cutting up with our audio and we're trying to stick to Monday/Wednesday releases for audio.

Although she is an Adelphi grad, we asked if she's a Mason fan now (yes). She was our first non-Mason guest and we really can't say enough nice things about her.
