I’m sorry but if we’re just talking about the eye test.... we still dribble the ball off our feet constantly. We had way too many unforced turnovers, many of them by our 4th year starting PG and 3rd year starting G. Inbounding the ball, we still don’t run true set plays from baseline out-of- bounds. We’ve been trying to turn Mar into a big man, when he was always best suited as a 3 not relied upon to crash the glass full time. Sounds like the bottom part of your point was more a reflection on Corey as a player than the coach. Are we not still iso ball? We run the high ball screen like 80%+ of the time (eye test) and then take what the defense gives us. Yes we kick out to the 3 a lot but probably shouldn’t given out 3 point shooting.

Here’s the way I see it, if you want to praise DP for our team chemistry, for building a program and not just a team and for being well respected around the A10, I can dig it. Otherwise, I’m still struggling to identify our offense, defense, out of bounds plays and his set plays after timeouts.

DP is about as genuine of a guy as there is. I’ve talked to him 50+ times...it’s a love/hate thing. This season is all on him, I hope he shuts all of us up.

Damnit you are right lol. Last season was very telling. We have a white Hewitt now who can't relate to players so he can't recruit. I'm just glad there is a 20 dollar ticket option now because that's what they are getting from me.

I think he's going to finish his career as probably the primary 4, but to think a guy can't work on his handle in the offseason is also pretty dumb...it's probably one of the easier things to learn skills-wise -- certainly easier than fixing your shooting motion.

If we wind up with a starting 5 next year of Kier, Greene, Miller, Mar, and Calixte there's plenty of rebounding in that lineup that you won't have to rely on Mar being even a tertiary rebounder. So long as he boxes his man out or clears space for, say, Miller crashing in on the offensive glass, he'll do fine.

If Xavier Johnson or Jamal Hartwell take over the PG spot, one of Greene or Mar is going to have to come off the bench (because unless Miller regresses, you can't leave him on the bench to start games).

Mar needs to get a little stronger to bang with some of the more athletic 4s in the A10, but he's a smart basketball player with enough craftiness in his game to be effective at there. He was his freshman season after Calixte took over at the 5.

I am cautiously optimistic of Miller. I think he benefited from teams keying in on Otis and Kier, leaving Miller wide open to get 2nd chance points. I haven’t seen him make his own shot yet, but that might be because DP didn't need him too.

Yes, DP didn't recruit depth for bigs. WE GET IT, and that's on him. So how is that the same thing as Hewitt trying to make Jenkins play the 3?

I will never get the beef with ByGeorge.... they are one of the only things we have that makes us feel like a real program.... (never met any of these guys so I am not a** kissing)

We have a bleh coach, bleh facilities, bleh Mason athletics staff, bleh patriot club staff, bleh recruits... but ByGeorge is the issue haha

We have fake "insiders", dudes that obviously don't go to or watch games, guys who are happy that we are mediocre on this message board but we want to pick on ByGeorge?! very silly

However, being that ByGeorge made the claim that DP gets "a pass" re his recruiting begs the obvious. And I wasnt attacking ByGeorge. They are my go to and love their work. But if ByGeorge, a media member, is gonna say DP gets a pass and he interviews him all the time, it's fair game to wonder why not just ask him about it. Maybe I mis read it.
