None of these mean much in isolation, but, there is:
He comes highly recommended from past and current head coaches where he played and assisted.
His former players speak highly of him.
He is one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the country.
His fans (and possibly school) are campaigning to keep him. Not clear if that is UMD's position as well.
Seems to be enough to warrant serious consideration regardless of where he went to school.

Again, I'm not saying I have a problem with Skinn, I just don't get the myopic focus on him from this board.
Like, yeah he seems like a reasonable candidate, but plenty of guys seem like reasonable candidates, but there isn't a thread on the front page of this forum talking about writing the president with your favorite candidate X.
I would like us to look far and wide, and if Tony Skinn is the best candidate, well then freaking great, but I would hope that the administration is not listening to a bunch of clowns on a message board, who really don't know what we're talking about.
