It would highly benefical for our young team to experience this. No matter the tourney.

Also, I wouldn't count our URI making the NCAA's...they really only have one bad loss (to Fordham), but they have now have two top 25 RPI wins (Cincy and vcu) and a couple of other solid wins: Belmont (54). Right now they are sitting at an RPI of 44.
I wouldn't put it past them to get the auto-bid, but at the very least winning their last two games of the regular season (@St. Joes and Davidson) and a run to the championship game might be all they need.
The one knock is they don't have a lot of top 100 wins (or even games), which is the problem with the A-10 has this year to many of us flirting just outside the top 100 classification: La Salle (119), Davidson (112), George Mason (113).
It's also hard to see anyone besides Dayton winning it all right now.
The last time we had a post-season tournament opportunity there were very few fans who supported the team. Sure, we filled the RAC for game 2 of the finals, but game 3 in the Patriot Center fielded sparse and disappointing attendance.
Many of you scoffed, *CBI? Who gives a dump!!" Many more of you blamed Hewitt, Hewitt, and Hewitt as the top 3 reasons for your apathy (you know who you are).
I think that was a travesty. Any post-season opportunity deserves us fans offering our unrelenting and unqualified support. Would we have it this time if the opportunity presents itself?
Hosting the game in the RAC was a logistical nightmare for the players, broadcasters, media, event staff, and athletic department.Agreed. But I also don't know why we moved game 3 to the Patriot Center. The RAC atmosphere was a big reason why we win that first game.

Oh c'mon, gimme a break.
Such a nightmare that we have intentionally scheduled a couple games there since?
The CBI game was on short notice as I remember. Big difference in something scheduled months ahead of time.
EBA was unavailable due to the circus or something wasn't it? Some performance was going on the night of the first game.
I do remember the Santa Clara coach was pretty salty about playing at the RAC with a post-game quote something in the vein of "we get to play in a real arena for the next game."
If they figured it out for the first two games, they could have figured it out for the third.Hosting the game in the RAC was a logistical nightmare for the players, broadcasters, media, event staff, and athletic department.
