A10 POY WATCH – Marquise Moore

OK, Marquise Moore's shot at A10 POY needs its own thread. It is a monumental occasion for him, the team, and us fans! We have to support his candidacy.

During the game on Wednesday, Marquise will be honored before the game as a senior Patriot. EVERYONE at the game must shout out M-V-P after he receives his pre-game Senior Night award.

We love you 'Quise! You are certainly one of the Top-5 players in George Mason's men's basketball history!

Winning means a lot, but I don't think it will hurt MM's chances at the crown much. He's the reason Mason is 18W-11L (8-8) as opposed to 9W-20L (4-12).

Quise is still hitting or surpassing his averages every game.

'Quise won the head-to-head battle against Cline twice. Especially got to love a 6'2 guard stuffing a 6'9 players shot back in his face.

Oh, and other players who might be considered? Peyton Aldridge from Davidson, Charles Cooke of Dayton, E.C. Matthews of Rhode Island, and Jaylen Adams from St. Bonaventure would be my other top candidates.

I've been breaking down the A10POY race for By George for a few weeks. No post this week since I'm out of town but as of last week I had it as a three way tie between Cline, Marquise, and Jaylen Adams. I don't think anyone else is seriously in contention for the top award.

I was watching an A10 game on ESPN2 last week (I want to say Dayton/vcu), and the first-team A10 picks for both announcers were shown on the screen. I was in a hotel room with the sound down, but I was shocked/pissed when I saw Marquise omitted from both of their lists. Maybe I missed the context, so does anybody else here remember seeing that? How could a legitimate A10 POY candidate be omitted from both of their respective picks?

Probably depends if they're going by position or not. Hard to say without seeing their list. They may see Marquis as 3rd best in the league but 2nd best at his position. Just a guess.

It's probably because it was on ESPN2 and the announcers didn't know much about the conference...probably just learned how to spell A10 right before they went on the air...

It was Mike Corey and Jason Capel. I saw that and immediately Tweeted about how stupid they both looked, posting a list like that on national TV.

One of them had Gibbs on first team and the other had Scoochie Smith. Both are fine players, but come the F on with that junk.

Considering everything he does for our team, Marquise has had AT WORST the third-best performance in the A-10 this season. I'm obviously biased but I think he should be POY.

Marquise should be, and will be, A10 POY. He plays FAR beyond what his position requires. No other candidate can claim that.

Cline averages a different sort of double-double than Marquise's: points scored and points surrendered to the guy he's assigned to guard.

I think there are very few players I. The A10 who have both the offensive and defensive responsibilities that Moore have.
