24-25 PreSeason Predictions

Dude- nobody who is a fan / alum of Mason or associated with the program is expecting and accepting Mason to be mid pack forever. I'm saying that's what "experts" expect out of Mason at this point. I would have been (and many others) would have been gone if that was the expectation of the program. I want the NCAA this year and I will be disappointed if anything less occurs. I have laid out my expectations already in a previous post. If we can't win with this type of roster, I don't know when we will.

Last I checked Mason beat Richmond at home last year and has in the past. I'm not sure why vcu and Richmond specifically are the keys to Mason making the top 4. In the end they have to somehow win 12 games in conference to make the top 4. Doesn't matter which 12 games, that is probably the magic number to be top 4. Yeah I want them to beat vcu too, but that alone isn't going to get them top 4.
To go to the NCAA tournament they likely have to finish 1 or 2 not just top 4. The A10 is not strong anymore. Like I said they likely only win 1 of the 2. Sure they can lose both and win every single other game on the year. That's a possibility I suppose. I think we're agreeing outside the statement of we have to beat vcu to be recognised I said that's not what I meant. I'm not even arguing with you. I THINK WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE HERE!

I however disagree 100% with the statement that people aren't ok with middle of the pack. I think most fans at Mason actually are 100% ok with middle of the pack, which is fine. It's just not a big sports school. I think most on here would be upset or disappointed though.

The “way too early” predictions from engagement farming sites were always pretty much worthless, but now especially so given all the roster turnover.

Also I continue to get a good laugh at all the “experts” who only look at stats and think Hall’s departure is a big loss for us.

Anyone who knows basketball and watched our games, particularly in the second half of the season, understands that “addition by subtraction” is a real thing.

Expect us to be underrated again because these jokers have no clue how much better this roster functions without Hall on it.
I loved watching the team after the tragic accident that left Hall with the multiple compound ankle breaks. Those bones sticking out was absolutely gruesome.

Not getting much love.
To be expected.

St Joes has hype on their talent, even though they have not living up to the hype. Having Erik Reynolds helps in that regard.
St Louis is the fun offseason trendy pick because Scherz is an upgrade over Travis Ford and brought in his guys from Indiana State
Loy Chi and vcu, folks think they won the portal plus returners

Not sure how Umass got 6th but maybe Frank responds to Rothstein-bot's texts frequenty enough to get the love.

So, he picked us 7th. He is off by 5.2 spots on average. 7 - 5.2 = 1.8. You can't finish 1.8th, so you have to ignore the fractional part, so, by my math, Rothstein, effectively, just said we will finish first.

As one of the more well known College Basketball media personalities, you’d hope he’d put a little more effort into these “breakdown” articles and actually provide some analysis and context around each team. Anyone can copy and paste rosters and make up power rankings.

That aside, f*** his prediction. Prove ‘em all wrong boys!
