2023 Recruiting

Completely agree. If we want better talent, the competition is going to get harder and harder. I continue to like the direction of what is coming to visit campus considering the quality of offers etc. Thats the first step.

Somehow, the staff has to win some of these battles though. I see the rest of the A10 recruiting very well with top 100s coming into the league consistently, and that's where we should/want the program to be.

And like we've said 10000 times, winning will only help. It starts with the staff and all the other stuff we've talked about, but winning is definitely needed.

Yup.

JP Estrella is scheduled to commit tomorrow. He's ranked the #7 Center in the country on 247 and he's taken official visits to Iowa, Syracuse, Tennessee and Marquette. That means 75% of those programs are going to miss out, no matter how outstanding a job they did recruiting him. Isaiah Collier is the #1 rated recruit in the class per 247 and he's taken five OVs, so 80% of those programs will lose out. And that doesn't even include schools like Auburn and Florida State who offered but didn't manage to land an official visit.

If anything, I would suspect CKE is being more selective about who he brings in due to not having a limitless budget. He got us to Top 2 on Posey, losing to a Big12 program and I wouldn't be surprised if CKE was the one who pulled the trigger on canceling Lowe's visit (no insider information at all to back this up). If the staff felt the odds were going to be a snowball's chance on landing him, no pun intended, then why would you burn the budget when you could put it toward bringing in someone else that you felt you had a more realistic chance of landing that still meets the talent/potential criteria of the type of kids you're trying to build a program around.

I get your broader point but I can assure you Kim didn’t cancel Lowe’s visit.

if the future averages 2 transfers and 2 incoming freshman we may see a lot of these guys again, with a new perspective and attitude

I liked a couple of twitter posts and retweeted poseys down to two post but no way Im doing that again for someone else its far too much work for absolutely no reward in the end sometimes
I think we're going to miss out on him because you won't reply with a video of you getting a Miller Lite can ready for action...

Looks like RI and Mason are the only schools that offered Myers. RI offered on Jul 8th, we offered him July 21st. He committed to RI on Aug 9th. He must have had a productive summer if he had no offers going into the summer. Perhaps he committed too soon. I mean he committed only 1 month after receiving his first offer.

I'm guessing he woke up one morning and thought to himself, "Wait, am I really going to Rhode Island? Is that even a state? And do I really want a future as a grizzled fisherman smelling of tuna, in a yellow slicker and wooden peg for a leg?"

I mean, it's just a guess but feels like that's definitely what happened.
Maybe he also couldn't understand what a Bubblah was.

Very similar.

Anyway Austin Ball and Dez White are visiting this weekend and we should show them love and support on social media. Lets keep the same energy as when Posey visited!
Do you have their Twitter or IG information handy?
