"Fran Dunphy’s name gaining traction at La Salle. The Philly native had been the head coach at Temple (2006-19), and at Penn (1989-06). He also served two stints as an assistant at La Salle in the 1980’s. Sounds like a decision could be made here by the end of the week.

Yesterday, I mentioned Colgate’s Mike Jackson picking up steam at Lafayette. Another name to keep an eye on now is Antoni Wyche. The current Notre Dame assistant has also worked at Siena and Lehigh. Sounds like this is now a 2 person race, with a D3 HC lurking…"

Lafayette has hired Colgate assistant Mike Jordan.

There’s also separate non-Dunphy track going on … names I’ve heard most prominently being mentioned are John Gallagher, Bashir Mason, Bruiser Flint. According to sources, La Salle has talked to each. But La Salle talking to more people than that. Not expecting drawn-out process.

Early names at Georgia State to replace Rob Lanier (departed or SMU) are current GSU assistant Cliff Warren and current Xavier interim head coach Jonas Hayes. Warren has been at Georgia State since 2019, following stints as an assistant at UMass and Maryland. He was the head coach at Jacksonville from 2005-14. Sources: Two former Atlantic 10 head coaches -- Karl Hobbs and Dave Paulsen -- have both emerged as primary candidates for the head coaching vacancy at La Salle.

Hobbs was the HC at GW and is currently at Rutgers.

Paulsen was the HC at George Mason and is an advsor at Fordham
