We are not.Are we not playing JMU this year?
Coppin schedule hasActually, I believe KE said we would play Coppin St on the latest #TalkWithUS, so that's game 12, and we have one more that should come out today.
i was thinking the sameAre we not playing JMU this year?
I’m sure they tried. Kim even said on the last podcast episode that Mason is stuck in the middle for now — we don’t suck so we’re not viewed as an easy win, but we’re not good enough that a P5 coach can schedule us without the risk of taking a dreaded “bad loss.”On the Mason Basketball Instagram/Twitter, they have Ticket, Saquan, Victor Bailey, Josh, and DeVon on the post. That's probably our Starting 5.
I wish we would play 1 or 2 more P5 teams instead of a team like Coppin State or Queens.

We’d all like the schedule to be flashier, but this is what happens when you have been utterly irrelevant for more than a decade.
BC is definitely the most important game on the schedule. If they’re even decent in the ACC a win would go a long way for our computer numbers and as you noted, losing sets us up for Tarleton State (whatever the F that is) and a huge missed opportunity. My .02
Highlights of the home schedule:
Toledo and Hofstra. Why? Because those are two quality basketball programs. Those two are going to be good matchups and fun to watch.
Lowlights of the home schedule:
American, Coppin State, UMES. Buy games that cannot be lost at any cost. We'll be lucky if any of these teams have a NET better than 250.
Meh parts of the home schedule
Queens, Longwood. Queens is a huge risk since they are new to D1, and while they were historically a good D2 program, who knows if they'll have a learning curve. Longwood was a good team last year, but who knows if they'll be good this year. Its a half decent home opener, but not very exciting.
Rest of the schedule:
Key games:
Boston College and Tulane. Not because these are such high quality programs but these will only help the program and league NET. In addition, if Mason beats BC, they'll most likely get Belmont and maybe Wyoming. If they lose, they most likely get Tartelton state which would be another lowlight and crush our OOC ranking. Tulane isn't a great name but theyl'l probably be around top 100 NET so that is a good neutral game.
Meh but important
Auburn- I don't expect Mason to win, but hopefully they can be competitive.
ODU- Not a great matchup but an old rivalry and one that I would much prefer Mason to not lose.
Agree with everyone on Tarleton State, however they did play Kansas tough for over a half (were down by only 6 early in the 2nd) and were beating Gonzaga early in the 2nd half last year. Shouldn't matter when we beat BC but you can't sleep on teams like that.BC is definitely the most important game on the schedule. I'm sure their fan(s) feel the same way when they hear George Madison (Mason)"Tartelton state" - each year there is at least one college I've never heard of that we play or is in the same pre-season tournament.

Not only that, but assuming Mason beats BC, they would get Belmont. Other than Howard, Drake Wyoming and Belmont all had better NET than BC last year. If Mason can somehow beat BC and play all the schools other than Tarleton State and Howard, that would be an excellent boost to the non conference.BC is definitely the most important game on the schedule. you can likely get better seats for individual games from some of the Mason Hoops members who are Season Ticket HoldersWhen can we buy tickets for the home games?
