way overhyping Foster Loyer... he was their third best player last year but people act like he was more important than Lee and Luka. wild world.

I am also skeptical of Travis Ford but with Perkins back this team has a Obi Toppin Dayton type of ceiling this year IMO

The only ways I see SLU underachieving are if Collins gets hurt for an extended period (his backup is a true freshman) or Ford is unable to manage all of the mouths that need to be fed and team chemistry implodes. Their top-end talent (Okoro, Perkins, Pickett, Jimerson, Collins) is the best in the league IMHO.

Ticket will be a handful on defense. He is also becoming a deep threat. In the practices I've been to he's been working on his outside shooting. Look for some threes from him. I'm psyched for his progress. This is going to be a fun team to watch this season!

The Almanac was released yesterday. Mason was picked 7th behind Dayton, vcu, SLU, Loyola, Davidson and Richmond.

Their writers, like many others, give a lot of credence to the established brands (Loyola, Davidson) and recency bias (Richmond). The huge personnel losses all of those teams sustained are minimized, while our one glaring question mark (PG) is magnified.

Let’s hope they look like a bunch of dumb dumbs come March.

I think this Mason team can make it to the NCAA Tournament. We have the depth and versatility to make it happen.

Nice to see rothstein give Mason some attention. Program deserves it. He mentions that they should be right around 4th best in the league behind Dayton vcu and SLU.

That’s where I’d expect Mason to be as well. I know the biggest question is pg play but I’m going to be optimistic today and say it won’t be an issue and the guys will be ready to roll.

All I know is that if this happens, all the "good jobs" better remain closed in the offseason. Rooting hard for Georgetown and Patrick Ewing to have a solid season...

I think you're right. But I also can't really blame them too much. Those other programs/teams/coaches have proven it and we haven't.

So many times in the past I thought we were right there. And should've been w/a team that included Otis Livingston, Justin Kier (Arizona), Jordan Miller (Miami), Javon Greene (South Florida), Jaire Grayer (TCU), all-everything transfer Jarred Reuter, and Frosh Phenom Goanar Mar who'd averaged nearly 11 PPG and was definitely going to come back even better. I mean, he certainly wasn't going to regress every year after that, that'd be insane to even think about barring catastrophic injuries.

Honestly, while the Almanac's preview is fun to read, there's not really any new info. They do say we could finish top 5 if the PG situation is resolved.

The Almanac also says KE is in a "Jump Seat" to move up soon, adding "English is an attractive target for high-major ADs".
