To this point it sucked that most of masons away games are not in the northeast this yearI am jealous that vcu is playing Arizona State in Brooklyn tonight. Really wish Mason would get a game in one of their neutral classics...
Early to say, but Konkol might be poised to turn that program around.Loyola Chicago got shown the door in the 2nd half by Tulsa. Was 30-30 at the half. Tulsa won 85-66
Odd move to go there but he’s a really good coach.Early to say, but Konkol might be poised to turn that program around.
Says something about sticking with a guy despite a lot of criticism. Every situation is different obviously, but I recall Mooney taking serious heat not long ago. Seems Richmond made the right call.We used to make fun of Mooney at Richmond but his team returning basically one starting player is now tied with Syracuse in NY and heading to OT.

I don’t think a coach would last 18 years at most schools with that record, so it’s a no for meYeah but he had already made back to back NCAA tournaments including a sweet 16 and a few NIT quarterfinals before those billboards went up. A lot of goodwill was made already.
As a point of comparison, Mooney was 33 when he took over Richmond. It was his fourth year as a head coach (2 at division 3 Beaver College, 1 at Air Force) before taking over a 14-15 Richmond team. His head coaching record at the time was 42-39 (although 18-12 at Air Force the previous season).
It took him 3 seasons to get a winning record at Richmond (16-15), four to get his first 20 win season and then he went to two back-to-back NCAAs, with a sweet 16 in year 6.
Since then he’s been in 3 NITs, a round of 32 and missed out on a likely NIT/possible shot at the NCAA in the COVID season with an overall record of 314-246 (154-127 in conference play). Postseason 3-3 NCAA, 6-3 in the NIT.
If this is English’s record here after 18 seasons, would we take it?
Was going to say was that a serious question. The answer is noI don’t think a coach would last 18 years at most schools with that record, so it’s a no for me
