It's all about building the right team and not wasting seasons on DII players.

Coach L had stiffs on his teams. Plenty of them. Need I bring up the fact the he started Jesus Urbina against Duke in 2007 again?

The point I was making is that we call the 1999 team a success because they made it to the NCAA tournament that year and the 2016 team a failure because they finished middle of the pack in the A10 without really understanding the context between those rebuilds. That 1999 team did not have an at-large worthy resume (was in fact 4-6 in the OOC).

And let’s be honest, the struggles this year are coming from the players we thought were going to be some of our strongest contributors (Otis, Mar, Reuter), not from our sophomores or freshmen or people who have left (although we miss Newman last year and this year).

Gemini, Its more about how we are building the foundation than calling any team a failure. I cant recall any DII level players(stiffs) in Coach L's first 4 years that hindered the growth of the program. Can you? We know how many DP's had in just 3 years.

Okay, so it’s after a win . . . But I can’t think of a single player on the team that is not capable of contributing. Therefore, there was not one last year either.

So you’re really only talking about the first two years. And how did they hinder us? By taking a scholarship for a year (or two)? If anything, I’d think you could still criticize DP for having open scholarships last year.
