You have no idea what’s going to happen next year. You have no idea whose recruits are going to pan out and which aren’t, who will get injured and who won’t, who will improve and who will regress, etc. this handwringing is stupid.
We were one win away from top 4 the last two seasons. I say we will be picked 7th, but vcu was picked 7th this past season. You have no clue.
I had a hunch that DP would struggle here with recruiting. And he has. I had no idea of anything certain but anyone could conclude it was going to be an issue based off where he came from and the type of kids he recruited in the past. Nice kids, that listen, aren't very athletic but have some skill, graduate. We are Willam & Mary of the North in basketball. Book it.
You keep leaning on the one win away from top 4. But what about the close wins that could of been losses? We easily could of been lower than 5th this year. Next year, despite everyone coming back, we will not finish ahead of vci, uri, davidson, dayton, bonnies, duq, slu. Simply b/c they have better athletes.
On a side note, isn't it ironic a mediocre CAA program came calling for our assistant? IMO, WM wants to be right where Shaver left them. Shaver wouldn't kiss that beast of a woman's a**, so she fired him. Poor Dane, he might get abused by that thing and nobody in Williamsburg will hear him scream.
