I’ll be honest, watching the coach whose salary we damn near just doubled complain about the system kinda rubs me the wrong way. I get it that it is shitty and things are stacked against us, but we are now paying him very handsomely to figure it out and succeed in it. Complaining on social media does diddly shit.
I’d say he is figuring it out and succeeding in it. Sometimes you just need to vent, it’s not that big a deal.

You are not alone. I thought it was very tone deaf of him. Be careful about saying anything slightly critical of our savior, though, it isn’t taken very well around here.

I just wasn’t sensitive enough to take it as complaining. There are dozens of guys transferring to high major programs because of money that will be bench players. It’s a shortsighted approach that he’s decided to comment on, and I dig it.

Maybe he should tweet stupid shit like Kaizen and Soon Come.

nothing wrong with what he said. i have no doubt he'd say something similar in person to a recruit: would you rather play here and develop your game on the court or compete with a 5 star recruit for playing time to get a quick bag? he's just saying it in a way that hits harder and might resonate... and at worst, he's just venting. either way, i'd rather have him tweet that out of frustration than quit all together like tony bennett, etc.

Some take it to mean Skinn didn't have enough money to afford his 1st choices so he settled on the current roster.

Lighten up, Frances.

Tony is human like all of us. He has frustrations like all of us. This new generation vents publically instead of sitting in their living room downing a bottle of scotch. It's probably better this way.

He is a post player. Another one where size says he’s a 4 but with a lack of perimeter highlights. The offense is going to look very different next year and/or we are going to rely on these types of guys (Ellington, Kanga, etc. at 6’8 220ish) to play the 5.

Also, he is the son of Etan Thomas and looks a lot like him. If only he could grow a little bit more to his father’s size.

Really hope we can land the Big man from Samford. Is this the dude that torched us in the NIT? Having at 6-11 kid who can shoot 48% from deep opens up all kinds of things for us offensively. Can he guard the 5 in the A-10? I've wanted a stretch 5 since we miss used Vlad all those years ago.

He had 7 points but his only other stats were 2 turnovers and 3 fouls in 14 minutes. No rebounds, blocks, assists, steals, etc. so I wouldn’t say he “torched us”. You must be thinking of Jaden Brownell - transferring to USC.

But maybe Skinn can turn him into Amari Kelly-lite?

Allenspach makes a lot of sense for Mason he is 6’11, 247 with a versatile offensive skillset. He went on visits to Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Va Tech previously. Seems like he is looking for playing time, or he would have went to one of those programs.

He had an offer from Mason back in 2021 under KE. Seems like a guy that could develop a lot under CTS.
