As if it wasn't already confusing that they were the George Madison Patriots of the Colonial Athletic Association.

I would hope that when a new name is selected, the students, faculty and alumni would be given an opportunity to vote for the new name or for keeping the Colonials moniker. (Moniker sounds odd to me but I don't know what the correct word is; should it be "team name"?)

But please, GW, don't select a boring animal team name with no actual connection to the school. I don't care for wildcats, tigers, and bears. However, I am okay with seawolves, banana slugs, and spiders.

Oddly enough, if anything was going to need to change, you would think they would have a bigger problem with (using woke logic) being named after George Washington than being named Colonials.

My suggestion is to name them "The Bland".

Who knows, Andy Ruge is there. He changed the Mason logo that we are now stuck with.

I know the current Mason Admin doesn't love our current logo.
