As KE has stated he wants competition. He has it now. I think Josh is the only lock to start. The other 4 spots are up for grabs. Produce or sit. It's going to get interesting.

I agree except for Ticket. Can’t see him coming off the bench after producing last year unless he gets hurt or caught with a bag of blow.

I think Justyn and Blake will be the first off the bench. Malik, Dinkins, Polite, and Big John in the 6-10 min range early on until the rotation tightens up.

I'd be surprised if Bailey doesn't start somewhere. Played twice the minutes as Gaines at Tennessee, and we saw how well Ticket made that transition.

Probably not, but I’d still rather start Bailey and play without a true PG than any of the other options. At least he can guard the position, that would be the first time we could say that since Bryon Allen graduated.

Also, I like Oduro at the 4 because that’s what he is. He’s lost so much weight it’s not really fair to expect him to defend the bigger 5s … guys like Ohams just abused him. Let Big John defend, rebound and pick up fouls, and run the offense through Josh.

Maybe I’m overthinking things (hi @Petey Buckets), but it seems clear that after one season of watching Josh and Ticket get worked over at times trying to guard 5s and 4s, Kim is trying to put a team on the floor that can hold its own physically against a variety of opponents.

Against smaller teams I think Josh will be the 5 and you’ll see basically 4-guard sets with Ticket at the 4 like last season.

But against teams like Dayton that play 2 legit bigs, we’ll have the ability to go 6-10, 6-9 and 6-7 up front.

I don’t think anybody expects Ojiako to set the world on fire, but it’s great to have options instead of Plan A and if that doesn’t work you’re screwed.
